Thought I have seen beers that have as many low ratings as it does high (Creme Brûlée) but picked up a six of Troegs Mad Elf and it has to take first prize- almost as many 1's as 5's. Pretty amazing. I love it.

Lost Abbey Angel's Share comes to mind. Makes me feel all bubbly just thinking about it.

Beers like the ones you mentioned (mad elf and creme brulee) really are extreme in their own styles so i would think that beers like that would have a love/hate relationship

Brooklyn Black Ops IMO the best BBA Imperial Stout but a lot of BA's don't care for it.

This thread can stop with DFH 120. Or WWS. Or most of the other beers they brew.

DFH 120 still gets rated an "Outstanding" and has no flat out "1"s.

And ditto for World Wide Stout. No flat 1's and is not dragged down much- it's still rated a 94.

My boyfriend and I visited the brewery and I hated that beer while he loved it. Matter of taste. At my bar sometimes things go on (such as Pumking) that I can't stand and want to pull, then they sell out in hours.

Dark Lord is rated at 96 out of 100 and has not flat 1's. Don't know if that cuts it.

I would agree with Mad Elf.

I fucking hate that stuff. Tastes like cough syrup that was steeped through honeycomb.

New Holland's Dragon's Milk seems to fall into this category. I personally like it, but I've read many comments in these threads that express a like for it as well as a dislike of it.

The 50 most recent reviews of Rogue Voodoo Doughnut Maple Bacon range from 1.00 to 4.99. That beer is at least controversial, although the range of reviews looks like a reasonable bell curve.
