Am I the only one that really appreciates it when the brewer includes the type of malt and hops on the label? I wish they all would do this.

Yeah I think it's pretty cool. As a lot of homebrewers probably know you can contact them and often times their more than happy to talk hop and malt bills with you.

Ah, I believe it's hops, yeast, malt, and water. I could be wrong though, lol! :grimacing:

Prior to home brewing I couldn't care less. Now that I home brew I do like to know what varieties are in the various brews.

Why are there so many smart asses here?

Don't you like to know what variety of hop is creating the taste you're tasting? Do you not care about the nuances of each beer you are drinking? If it's just hops, yeast, malt, and water you might as well go have a bud.

First day on the internet? are you freaking kidding me?

I'm not saying they should release the recipe. However, many labels will at lease tell you what hops they are using. If not on the label, many will have it on their web page.

More than a few have information on their web sites, if not on the bottle.

Stone will keep mum on some beers, and disclose information about others. I think it's just a "brewery by brewery" basis for figuring out who does and who doesn't.

I like to see ABV, IPUs, gravity, and type of hops on the label.

You asked a vaguely rhetorical and undeniably sophomoric question, and then followed it with a banal statement akin to "I wish I could fly like Peter Pan". You basically begged for smart-assed responses.
Oh, and in case you didn't know, once you form a question and push it lovingly out onto the glassy surface of the interwebs, it is no longer yours and you don't get to regulate how other people respond to it.

If you already know where to find this information, why would you snipe about it not being on the labels? I'm guessing lazy. Most bottles carry 12 square inches of real estate at most--the breweries figure that interested parties are intelligent and motivated enough to chase down the vital information if they want it.
Am I the only one that feels this way?

I'm drinking an Upslope IPA right now, and they indicate patagonian hops were used in it, and I'm pretty convinced those hops are the shit right now.

However, you can look at the hops used for Union Jack on the FW website, and they hop it three times, with seven different types of hops, at different points in the brewing process. How do you put that on a beer label?

Either way I do find it interesting, though I think simpler the better if it's going on the packaging.

Ok. I'll let you know. Tonight I drank an epic glass of Boulevard Dark Truth Stout. According to the bottle, its made up of German hops, English malts, and Belgian yeast.
