Beer Release (Short's Brew): Captain Fantasy

    Get ready, because another Short's specialty brew is on it's way to statewide 6pk distribution!

    Captain Fantasy is a collaboration with our friends at Half Acre in Chicago. It's a Sasion brewed with pear and Soriachi Ace hops. The first time this was bottled (2011), very few cases made it's way away from our pub. This year, 900 cases will be sent throughout Michigan--300 more than is usually distributed with our specialty release program!

    Captain Fantasy~ A lighter bodied ale with a bright clear golden color. Satisfying aromas of various spice blend with bright fruity hop fragrances. A lively amount of carbonation cleanses and refreshes while leading into flavors of sweet pear, tart lemon, and pleasant herbal subtleties. The overall fruitiness is interrupted by an assertive hop bitterness that dominates the finish, turning noticeably dry.
    ABV 6.7%
    IBU 75

    you have no idea how excited i am to try this. one of my favorite styles and something different from what shorts usually puts out.. cant wait to see how it taste!

    when should it start to hit stores?

    Just cracked my last bottle of the original batch and it was still drinking damn good! Can't wait to grab some of the new batch.

    Not that I'm complaining, but where did this come from? Its not on the 2013 Release Schedule. Surprise release....damn you Shorts.

    I'm going to have to give this another try, I had it at the Brew Pub either last year or the year prior and got a bad impression. Perhaps I was just crabby that day.

    This was the beer everyone voted on. And if you didn't order it at the Imperial Beverage Trade show you weren't getting any is what I was told. I ordered 2 barrels, I love it that much lol

    I thought we all voted for a beer in the 2014 calendar year, and Cup a Joe won. Again, not complaining, just curious. I've never had Captain Fantasy, and I love me some saisons. Looking forward to trying this.

    This was a vote from last year, I believe. It was between Black Cherry Porter, Chocolate Wheat, and Captain Fantasy.
