Just wanted to know any info available on this? Bottle count, distribution, etc? Any information would be helpful.
    Cheers,

According to an article in the Chicago Reader Coconut Rye filled up 88 barrels. I believe that could mean as many as 15,000 (less depending on kegging and volume loss to evaporation and the wood of the barrels themselves). I would think that, at a minimum, we're looking at 10,000 bottles of Coconut Rye.

as far as the Backyard is concerned, same article said 200, so I would think at least 32,000 bottles of that.

Thanks very much. That is very appreciated. Just trying to understand all the hoopla on the trading block then if there will be this many bottles.
    Cheers,

Does anyone think if I offered up the entire current CCB catador membership
Bottles (forgotten island, big don gavino, illuminating the path, good gourd almighty) plus the catador bottle of 110k(stout with raspberries) plus life is like and huna would land some of the backyard rye? I'm not even contemplating going for coconut unless I get lucky with a trader. Obviously I wouldn't expect 1: on backyard and would take some Coffee bcs in there and not want just the backyard. Just curious as I'm waiting to post to see if my contacts up in that area will get any.

All but the Proprietors Coconut Rye are being distributed in Florida. I hope you don't have to give up anything except some time and money.

I know this. Unfortunately I'll be out of town Friday for the release. I'm gonna try to get some of them down here but it's gonna be a huge hit or miss. I see this in Florida about like the Ba hunas were released at CCB earlier this year where a store may get a case but it'll be gone by the time I get there. I could be wrong and hope I am. Just seeing if my trade would warrant someone trading for multiples of backyard and coffee.

The iso's for this beer are completely out of control. If the bottle count predictions are right, people are going to be pissed at what gave up when the market gets flooded

Even if they legged half of it (no way they did that), that's still a hell of a lot of bottles.

Spot on brother. This, all day long. Shelf turds on the horizon.

I have zero of the bottles and most likely won't get any. That said, "flooded"? Please, honestly, tell me when the market has been flooded with ANY variant. Sure there are a few lucky people that stumble across a store that will sell them the whole case, but Bramble, Vanilla, Coffee, Cherry Rye, King Henry, etc. by no means randomly sit on shelves for months upon months. I get it, there is a huge bottle count. I get it, we have the same "shelf turd" argument every time there is a GI release. But every time I ask people WHERE these bottles just sit/flood the market (because I can't get shit out here in the suburb's working a normal job and trying to go after work) there is never a satisfactory response.

And since I have no dog in this fight, I was able to try Proprietors last weekend and by golly, as a non-stout lover overall, that was an unbelievable beer.

    Keep thinking that

Yea , you have a point if all of the bottles weren't going to one market. In NY regular bcbs was around forever. In fact, I have a slim in my kegerator. Cherry rye was released multiple times throughout year and it wasn't very hard to obtain .

This has already been discussed ad nauseum... NY got the lion's share of Cherry Rye. I was lucky to get my hands on a single bottle. Chicago got screwed last year. But, Chicago had a ridiculous amount of coffee and regular. NOW, this year Chicago is being "blessed" with the coconut... but guess what... everyone is going to hoard the shit out of it in order to trade/resell/brag about.

Hell, our largest liquor stores were only getting 6 bottles to a case of Cherry Rye. People that got them were selling them for 150-200 online.
