Right now, I'm sipping on a 'black and tan' made from Heavy Seas Peg Leg RIS and Flying Dog Snake Dog IPA. The hop character of Snake Dog (Columbus and Warrior) meshes very well with a RIS, helping to balance the sweetness of Peg Leg with some dry bitterness. I'm really surprised how well balanced - and drinkable - the combination is.

Any other successful tales of random beer blending out there?

Blending DFH 60 with their 90 is absolutely scrumptious. 50/50 blend. Better than their DFH 75.

This is probably something along the lines of a 99:1 blend, but I used to like to drink [insert relatively cheap, uncomplex imperial stout here - for me it was Widmer KGB] in the residual remains of [insert any DIPA here].

I enjoy doing 50/50 of Loose Cannon and Peg Leg. This is my year-round version of Black Cannon. Have never tried it with Snake Dog, but now I will have to! Keeping it MD-style. Cheers!

I did a Black n' Thrash for St. Patrick's Day. Jester King Black Metal and Thrash Metal, in a 1:2 ratio.

The 50/50 blend of terrapin wake n bake and moo hoo is a classic combination. The wake n moo.

I'm usually a purist and don't blend, but I drank a ton of Duhops (Duet and Pure Hoppiness) my last visit to Alpine. They actually have a list of suggested blends in their pub.

I'm still trying to figure out what to name my combination...I know for a fact there's a phallic reference somewhere in there screaming at me to use it.

I've always wondered if BCBS + New Glarus Raspberry Tart or Beligian Red in a 10:1 or so ratio wouldn't be a better beer than Bramble...

I think the last blend I had was a black & blue version that used Guinness and Blue Moon. I don't hate either beer (uh oh) so I enjoyed the flavor combination. Think that's the only blend I've ever had

I blend all of the time ... DIPAs with malty amber / red ales, massive stouts with brown ales, barleywines with pale ales, triples with witbiers. Lots of fun and it is a great way to cut some of the stronger beers that would normally destroy my palate.

Hello. I generally don't like to blend anything with drinks. Single malt neat, tequila neat, beer, I drink loose leaf steeped tea with no sugar, honey, cream, etc. so I am not a fan of mixing anything. The Dogfish 75 literally came into existence because people (and the brewers) would blend 60 and 90. The cask version is fantastic.

Saint Arnold in Houston created a new beer called Sailing Santa because patrons in their brewery tours were always blending their Christmas Ale and Elissa IPA, so they decided to bottle it. If I am not mistaken, this first batch was literally a blend of the two previously brewed beers. Next batch will actually be brewed from scratch by combining the recipes.

The ones I mentioned are good, but blending beers rarely works in my experience. However as I mentioned above, I generally don't like to mix anything.

Never thought to blend two beers together or if it would even taste good. Definintly going to try some combinations now though.

One of the old timers at Bell's frequently orders a Lagerslam, Bell's Lager Beer topped with Hopslam. I love the combination of a clean, smooth pils or similar lager and an aggressively hopped ale.
