I've been really into stouts lately, and I'm loving Sam Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout. However, I wish it had a bit more ABV to it - with the tad bit more of concentrated flavors that usually go with the Imperial label.

I can't think of any Imperial Chocolate Stouts that I've tried (RIS's usually have more coffee notes in my opinion), let alone remembering any that stand out as good. Suggestions?

Big John packs a ton of chocolate flavor. Drank a BB IBB last night that was straight up chocolate chip fudge brownie. Hard to find and pricy though .

I enjoy Kerplunk from Spring House Brewing Company, though you probably won't find it in your area.

Choklat's one of the best out there. It's also widely available and not cost-restrictive.

The Imperial Choklat is fantastic as well as Rogues Double Chocolate.

I find Founders to be more coffee than chocolate

Yea I was thinking of a 2011 and 2012 fbs I drank the other day, It tasted like the coffee faded a bit and had more of a chocolate flavor

Seek it out! It's fantastic and the price is hard to beat at $8 a four pack

Not a fan of Rogue beers in general but their Double Chocolate Stout is amazing.

Do we have to use acronyms for every beer we talk about?

Caldera Mogli is the best I've ever had if you're looking for straight up chocolate roastiness. The oak barrel is pretty tame. Definitely look for that one

Hunahpu's... It's like the best chocolate stout you've ever tasted plus the added bonus of cinnamon, vanilla, and chili peppers. 11% ABV as well.

I had Vampire Slayer (...soon to be renamed) by Clown Shoes and, well... me gusta.

EDIT: Not a "chocolate stout" necessarily, but oh well.

In MN we have a local brewpub, Dangerous Man, and they have a d@mn good chocolate milk stout along with their more limited Imperial Chocolate Milk Stout. I know it doesn't help out of towners too much, but if you're ever in the area I strongly suggest going there.
