We'll be going to ski at Keystone for the first time in February, and I was hoping that there'd be a handful of good beer-bar options either there or in Breckenridge. My initial research has not shown this to be the case, and I hope I'm wrong. Does any one have any suggestions? Thanks.

Right in between Keystone and Breck is the town of Frisco, which has Backcountry Brewery. Excellent brews.

Backcountry is your best bet. Prost is just a few blocks up from Backcountry on Main St. and has a decent lineup.

There's an absinthe bar on Main St. in Breckenridge in the basement of the Swiss Haven restaurant. They've got a good lineup of Belgian beers, served in appropriate glassware. A little pricey, but everything's pricey in Breck...

Kenosha steakhouse in breck has good tap list and good food, pug ryans in dillon and the dillon dam brewery are both good.

More thumbs up for Frisco and Backcountry... and Prost... but know that Prost up there is not Prost Brewing from Denver. Prost up there has authentic German biers on and some delicious sausage platters. You could check out Pug Ryan's in Dillon, too, while you're out that way.

You could also hit Dillon Dam Brewing if you're gonna come down to Pug's. And I remember the original Breckenridge Brewery in Breck being decent, though I haven't been there in eons.

They have some cool stuff on tap... but they're also a full bar... so it's definitely the best place (to me) to hang out in the town of Breck itself.

Any idea if Backcountry does growlers?

In the Keystone River Run Village itself, 9280' has a pretty respectable tap list. And good nachos. Good for après ski.

I think they do growlers, they also sell bottles and pigs.

We will fill growlers, but we don't have the glass for sale. I know you're traveling, so if you find something you want to take with you, I'm sure I can scrounge up some glass for you.

As heyduke mentioned, we do have bottles and party pigs.

I was impressed with the tap lineup at Downstairs at Eric's in Breck, good bar food as well.

Rita's bar in Breckenridge. Heard they have some nice treats on tap.

Not really a beer bar but a brewery. It's been a long time since I've been to the place (10 years) but at the time I thought Dillon Dam Brewery was pretty good. Not sure how it ranks here but you could look it up. There's a big bus system around Summit County and I'm sure you can get between the resorts and into town on what I think is a free bus just like in Jackson Hole. I would confirm all this but it's my best recollection. Quit skiing about 5 years ago. Got sick of breaking bones.

I think Pug Ryan's is a much better selection if you are in that area. The beers just seem to be much more on point, but if you have never been, Dillon Dam is probably worth a shot.
