Is the government shutdown affecting the bottling/release?

On the subject of CCB sours, I did spot this on the brewery tour yesterday and was given a sample from the tank. Good funkiness and looked like a cup of chocolate milk. So tasty...

CCB Oud Bruin, sign me up.... Hope this sees bottles...

Now I am not an expert by any means but from personal experience a post boil pH of 3.2 is extremely low. This beer must be pre-acidified (I imagine by the same method as sour Guava Grove which the best I can figure is a pre-fermentation lactic acid fermentation with Lactobacillus followed by boil, cooling, and yeast addition). This is going to be interesting. I have heard of this method for Berlinners but with my admittedly limited knowledge I am not sure of any other breweries making sours this way. Anyone know of any? I wonder how this will compare with other Oud Bruins.

So has anyone tried the newest batch that they bottled? I hear it's not really sour like the first batch, and it's just lightly tart. I'm wondering if this is similar to the light tartness you get with Don Gavino's. I was hoping for that mouth puckering sour like the first batch. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Andreias texted me yesterday saying how great a deal this beer was at 9.00 per 750 and how awesome it tastes so i am not sure. it sounded to me like it was the same mouth puckering sour that was on draft.

I haven't actually tried this batch yet, I was referring to the original as far as taste, I hope its still as sour

I think this is the best batch so far. Lots more guava, a tiny less sour, you get a lot of the fruit in it. Delicious!
