If you could drink any beers you wanted for one drinking session, what beers or styles of beers would you drink? In what order would you prefer to drink which particular styles?

My ultimate session sequence would probably start with pale ales, then work up to IPAs and end with DIPAs.

I wouldn't mind a barleywine or imperial stout somewhere in my sequence, but I'd prefer to save the hoppiest beer for the end of the session.

Good one but it would depend entirely where I am. If at home, I'd start with a sour (lambic-based or red/brown), lightish with a bit of hops (pale ale or saison), move up to a double or triple (depending what I'm eating -- and I just realized in saying that this I'm picturing this over a multi-course meal but, I think it applies in any case) then something monstrous, a quad or RIS. Lather, rinse, repeat.

My typical home drinking session goes about like this: IPA, Stout, DIPA, IPA , somthing Barrel aged, then if I'm still functioning more IPAs !

Green Flash Rayon Vert, Prairie Artisan Puncheon, COOP F-5, Mother's Three Blind Mice, Delirium Nocturum, and finish it off with a North Coast Old Rasputin or North Coast Class of '88 Barleywine. Granted there would have to be a lot of food or just split the venture into a 2 day affair.

A great English bitter from cask followed by some refills.

I like to go heaviest to lightest...no more than 3 per session or i feel like my taste buds just shit themselves

I've learned recently that the hop character of IPAs really pops right after drinking a stout.

I've been trying to figure this out. Definitely better to start lighter, especially with hops.
Do people prefer Stout then IPA or IPA then Stout? I think the contrasts work well either way usually. My taste buds do get "fatigued" with too many different beers or too many hops (by about the 4th beer).

Heavy English barleywines...transition to sweeter, hoppy American barleywines...and then eventually to cleaner, even more hoppy DIPAs.
