Has anyone else opened a bottle? I did with some friends last night and it has the green apple taste to it. Acetaldehyde from poor fermentation or acetobacter? Would FFF knowingly release it like this? Just curious if anyone else has found issue or it's just my random bottle.

I tasted the same thing in the bottle we opened at DLD. I guessed acetaldehyde right away.

Uhh, if this is true, I might have to cancel a trade for 2 bottles. Is there further confirmation on this? Reported to the brewery, anything like that?

Actually my hyped DL was bacon and smoke. So glad to see they went the other way with it.

    Cheers!

I was thinking about trading for a bottle this year, abandon ship! I absolutely hate green apple flavor in beer, stupid acetylaldehyde. Memories of Abyss 2009 have me prepared for what this might turn into. Maybe FFF accidentally aged it all on Apple Brandy.

Well, that's good news...maybe it's not the entire batch?

On the positive side, maybe now I won't have to offer up one of my internal organs to trade for Dark Lord.

I opened 1 at DLD, and did not notice any off flavors. I had A tickets, and was probably the 50th person to get the allotment. Maybe there was a bad batch?
