What other beers currently, are as universally well received, are available to you in Decorah that have a better price point?

Just to clarify - Zap is quoting growler prices at the Nova $10 and Ranger is quoting growler prices in the tap room @$15 (and bomber pricing)

I think the problem is lack of options of breweries in Iowa. I moved from Wisconsin and there were a LOT of options for good prices from breweries in the state (and I didn't even like the "fabled" spotted cow). It just seems like people put them up with the best (like Founders, Bells, Sierra Nevada, etc...) and Im sorry but other that Golden Nugget, each one of those other breweries make a better version of what TG makes. I hope they step up their game and brew "outside the box" with some great new styles. Again, it sounds like I hate them and I don't, I just feel they are a little over hyped.

So... start a convo with me and we can work out you being my mule for the next Assassin, KBBS, and Mornin' Delight releases. Since, you know, you probably want the double stouts from Wisconsin more than these.

It doesn't matter on the lack of other options for Iowa breweries, as I will put TG toe to toe with any other Midwest brewery, and they are still killing it with what they are doing, and with being still very early in their opperations...With that said, it's not to say that Bells, Founders, Boulevard, Surly, and many other smaller breweries within the midwest aren't doing great things, and making some world class beers themself...to say that is just as crazy.

To dismiss Nugget, Zeelander, Sosus, Sue, Assassin, Mornin Delight is crazy. The last 4 are honestly world class beers. There are very, very few Dipa's I'd say are as good as Sosus, maybe 4-5 that I've personally had. Pliny...Nope...(I've had fresh bottles and on tap in S.F. still doesn't compare.

I respect your opinion, but to call TG overhyped is laughable.

I am really excited to try the X-hops series, and can't wait to give my honest opinion on them.

Me and the gf will be heading up again this weekend to check out the new brews, what those guys do with hops is straight magic so I'll happily drink all the over-hyped or under-hyped Sue and Sosus that y'all pass up on with a big grin on my face. If my Malbec-loving girlfriend thinks Golden Nugget is the best beer ever then that's proof enough for me that they're doing something seriously right.

Sounds like they will be bottling the first 2 beers in the XHops series this Saturday, per Facebook/Twitter.

Yet I have seen posts on rate beer that they have distributed to wisconsin, yet they won't ship any to other parts of Iowa...doesn't make any sense

It is obvious that ranger either A doesn't like stouts or B has never tried TG stouts because that is the only way you could call TG " a little over hyped."

If only it was next Friday I'd probably make the drive! Planning on going back for Assassin 2014 for sure if not sooner.

Looking forward to hopefully seeing Clark and Murph again (and anyone one else from TG!) at the Extreme Beerfest 2014 in Omaha this February.

Will any of the X-Hops be kegged and available at the tap room to drink, or will the majority go to bottling?
