LuisQ pretty much nailed it. However, depending on how long you are in town I'd focus on Funky Buddha (brewery) and Tap 42 (greet beer bar with food). I would recommend taking one of the tours at Funky Buddha this weekend. Tours at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm both Saturday and Sunday. They have a nice outdoor patio to enjoy a bite from the food trucks that are there most days including the weekend. And coming from the cold weather, enjoying a FB beer outside on the patio in 70-80 degree weather will be a nice treat. They do have big screens inside so you can catch most NFL games on Sunday. You can also get growlers filled and they are counter pressured fills so they will last at least a few weeks. Keep in mind FL law only allows for 32 oz. or 128 oz. growler fills just in case you thought about bringing a 64oz. growler with you. I'd also focus on Tap 42. Another really nice outdoor patio. My girlfriend really enjoys their food menu too and they have a great draft list featuring beers from all over FL. A great way to sample FL beer on draft without having to hit all the breweries. If you are looking for bottles to go skip Tap 42 unless you are willing to exchange your first born. Hit Riverside for bottles to go. Both FB and Tap 42 do a really great job keeping their websites updated so you know exactly what's on draft. Check them out before you come down. funkybuddhabrewery.com and tap42.com Have fun!!
Second the tour with FB on Sat or Sun. A good 30-45 minutes of beer sampling, and if you're not a home brewer, a lot to learn about the brewing process. Even as a brewer, I enjoyed seeing how it was done on a much more grand scale. And, I got to spy on the brew sheets to see MBCP in the fermenters! Looking around in the keg cooler alone was worth it, to see what is upcoming.
Good list and all these are great recommendations. It's Laser Wolf (no Z) if you trying to look it up. On their Facebook page, they post their draft list daily and have a good bottle selection as well. I would rate Laser Wolf ahead of Tap 42 because of the cool staff, laid-back atmosphere and the prices are way better. But Tap42 does have a more extensive draft list. If you visit Tap 42, go during the week such as Monday-Wednesday nights when they have food or drink specials because otherwise it's expensive to hang out there. If you end up going to Las Olas Boulevard, there is bar called American Social that has about 40-something craft beers on tap. The place is a zoo on the weekends though - can't move inside there. Also if you go to downtown or "Riverfront" area which will probably be around the corner by Himmarshee & 2nd St instead of actually at Riverfront, go to Original Fat Cats. Great beer selection and cheap prices for downtown Fort Lauderdale.
