I always think that Brown ales aren't my thing but whenever I have one I always enjoy it. It's never a mind blower, but it's a solid style that I can drink quite a few of. It's a style I don't see get much love.

How do you feel about Brown Ales? What are your favorites?

DFH IBA, and Avery Ellie's Brown, are the best I've had so far. Shout out to Smutty Old Brown Dog as well.

Dark Horse Boffo, Avery Ellies, Bear Republic Pete's Tribute, Big Sky Moose Drool. I like brown ales that have a subdued hop presence. Smuttynose is also really good, but I haven't had that in ages.

Founders Frangelic Mountain at KBS day was the absolute top one I have had.

Samuel Smith's Nut Brown is a favorite of mine. I also enjoy New Glarus Fat Squirell. Lost Coast Downtown Brown is decent too. If I feel like getting nostalgic, I could pound a few Newcastle Brown Ales. There is nothing wrong with enjoying a good brown ale.

I love a good brown ale. It's just a classic, modest style that hardly ever gets sensationalized.

    My favorite Browns are:
    - Avery Ellie's brown
    - Clown Shoes Brown Angel
    - Pretty Things Saint Botolphs
Edit: almost forgot Sam Smith's Nutbrown!

I'd also give a shoutout to Smuttynose's browndog for a close runner up.

DFH Indian brown is unique and tasty (its mouthfeel is like a milk stout), but it tastes like a different animal to me.

Brown ales and English Dark Milds are by far my favorite styles for a session. They always seem like a safe bet for people new to craft and something just to enjoy and not have to think about too much.

Local guy (to me) nice. I wasn't huge on Brown Angel but though it was good. I haven't tried the pretty things offering. I'll have to pick one up.

Palo Santo seems way out there. I'm sure its a brown ale, and know it's really good....it just isn't the first thing that pops to mind when I think brown ale haha.

TommyKnocker Maple Nut Brown. The Imperial version is good too, but you can get blasted on that, as it goes down smoothly at 9% ABV

Love me some brown! Was on a brown ale binge for about a year when I first started my craft career. Downtown brown was it. Then Rogue Hazelnut. Now it's Palo Santo every once in a while. You are right, not talked about enough.

    Salud!
