Rahr BBAWW $16 this year....what?

    Gotta Reassess the regular WW this year. I had one bottle that was amazingly good, 2 bottles that were thouroughly infected or my mouth has sour milk in it. ....and i dont drink milk.
    will try the other 3 tomorrow but im bumming out and im really hoping that somehow a cow squirt milk in my glass that was sitting for a few days.

    even after eating dinner and having 2 real ale coffee porters, i can still taste the horrid taste.

    anyone else have some bottles of regular WW ?

    no, they don't get love because they make average-at-best beer.

    and its not just BA. anyone with a tongue and a novice craft beer mind can tell rahr are sub par.
    good gateway brews, definitely. but past that. no thank you.

    I bought a case of Pumpkinator at an heb, and it rang up $8.99. I felt bad and had to correct the cashier.

    ya the only reason i would buy it is the 8.99 price tag, local store has a ton left of last years gonna go buy that up and drink it instead of the 2013

    The 16 dollar price point at CM is some sort of snafu. It will be fixed on Friday, that is lowered to $13.99. Still a signifigant increase but not quite so outrageous.

    Not a huge Rahr fan, but liked picking up BBWW each year. Was good for drinking, a good gift or extra in a trade.

    Waiting on a review from this years... I recently drank one from last year(one more in fridge) and I cant see spending $16 on it.

    Had one tonight. I'm on the fence with it... Definitely not up to the $14/$16. Rumor I heard was CM is lowering it and eating the difference not that it was a mistake but who knows.

    As for taste, for me it's a chocolate bomb. If I didn't know what it was I would have guessed chocolate yeti, albeit thinner. I also get very little barrel and almost zero bourbon. That being said I don't think it's a bad beer but def not worth what it's going for and absolutely not $16. I'm eager to compare it side by side with last years. I remember thinking last years was a solid, easy drinker, and available, and at $9 was a good buy. Even if this years was the same price point I think I would pay the extra $1 and get a victory at sea or yeti etc (which I wouldn't have said last year).

    This is true...but I have never seen him sell his beer for less than someone else. Hell, most of the time I think he adds a convenience fee to his beers. :-)
