this is the way i felt about cherry oud tart, that beer is fantatic nad great for the price. i think wanderer is better.

i do feel that batch one was pretty epic, but im very happy how b2 turned out, a bit more sour than the first batch was out of the gate, but just as tasty. frog was right about the fruit not bursting, but its still pretty fruty.

think im gonna have to do a marron, cherry oude, b1 & b2 wanderer tasting soon

Batch 1 is always the best, even when it really isn't.

You're not describing the Batch 2 BWXII I've been drinking. At all.

+1. In terms of the hype and cost, B2 BW12 was the most disappointing beer of 2013 for me. By far.

And just because the last time I commented on it, all of an hour ago, didn't cut it... BWXII is one I went from ordering a single bottle of to ordering a case after tasting it and haven't been disappointed once. Love that stuff. Would buy year round if available.

Same here. I love it. And so has everyone at my beershares, usually it's the favorite amongst a bunch of various sours. And I'm currently drinking it side by side with a Lolita, which has a bit more fruit to it.

Hopefully your endorsement will lead someone in San Diego to buy my bottles off me at cost.

Just point your buyer or trader at http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/16866/66743, it doesn't look like the ratings have dropped much since batch 2.

One of my happiest beer days this summer was when they added it back to the store.

Has anyone tried the current batch of Melange #3? How is it? I held off on buying too much during the initial allocations due to concerns over White Oak Sap, but if it turned out well I might order some more.

actually it has, quite a bit. for batch the beer had a rating of 99, and it was the brueries highest rated beer let alone sour

but that doesnt mean its bad at all, that usually happens when any beer gets better distrobution and more ratings

Has been a hit at tastings for me, as well.

Really the only time it didn't stack up as well was when it was help up against gueuzes and lambics... which this Wit with Fruit really shouldn't be compared to.

I dunno, I suppose I can imagine having certain specific expectations that would lead me to think this beer wasn't that good, kinda like how I sorta understand how when people get young, soft (not that sour) gueuzes they get disappointed... but just like those gueuzes I find this beer to be superb for what it is, and I could drink it all the damn time.

Xul posted tasting notes earlier in the thread. Bottom line: very good.

has anyone tasted the new batch of the wanderer yet? Haven't been following too closely, not even sure if it's available yet.

It's slightly less fruit forward FRESH compared to the original, but a great beer.

I'm loving the Wanderer but I haven't had time to take notes. Hopefully tonight. Disclaimer, I never had batch 1.

I had a pour of the new Wanderer batch at City Beer Store the other night and it was great; definitely recommended.
