Binnys in Chicago land some are betters than others but I am very loyal yo my home town one in Algonquin, I was able to score all the BCBS variants and very pleasant staff

Yes, but it wouldn't be a secret anymore. Nice to have a discreet go to. Adds to beer buying to have a spot where you don't know what new stuff they'll have when you walk in, but you know it'll be good...and fairly undiscovered.

 

I have a couple friends that work for a distributor. They graciously give me a tips on special releases.

 

My area is already saturated with people who camp out. No way am I giving up my only spot for the stuff sitting on shelves.

 

My secret beer spot is in PA and because of our crazy ass beer laws this distributor can only sell in cases. He only gets 1 (maybe 2) of the harder to get stuff. He sells it to me and I share it with him, his employees and my friends. It saves me from the lines and I try to advocate as best as I can. I would rather have the ability to buy 6-ers from this guy but unfortunately that's our stupid system.

I have a "decent" shop, but New Mexico is an abyss in terms of craft beer distribution. We don't get jack schit here. Well we do get Stone and Avery regulars are coming back but that's about it. Luckily we have some good solid locals (Marble, Il Vicino, La Cumbre etc.). I usually go hog wild out of state and haul it back. Much like last week coming back from a week in CA:

Yes I Absolutely do but I'm a ridiculous big mouth and have blown it up in perhaps an irrevocable way. This is a spot I was able to buy a case of king Henry and cherry rye but I think I blabbed too much and went to buy my four packs or BCBCS for 18.99, no less, and found the shelves stripped bare. I blame myself.

 

Wouldn't be much of a secret if I posted it on them there interwebs!

 

There's a place up the road from me with 2 cases of BCBS. Not one person has even inquired about it there.

 

I've got plenty of those places. Plus most of them are my beer hookup spots since I buy there so often so the owners hook me up anyway. One of them had cases of Backwoods on the floor last weekend. No bottle limit or anything. That's why I like those stores.
