They will have Beat on tap for the next 2-3 months at $7/13 ounces. As a regular, I view that as a success.

Could've been better, could've been worse. Waited about 3 hours to get my beer.

Ya, but with that metric bottling at all is stupid. Which it very well might be. Let's just put it this way, RR made it substantially less likely that a) I buy more beer there, and b) that I recommend them to friends. They make great beer, but poor customer service will sour me no matter how good the product. More for others I guess...

I'm in the camp of past releases and could not believe how slow things went today. When I 1st posted I was very optimistic that i was only 2hrs out, well that turned into 3+. I should have investigated more when I got there but I figured cool bottle line go through the back where they had three people at a time getting rung up with three registers for b5. Nope just one this time WTF? Really on a Saturday one register? I'm sure they started out strong but come on people get tired and start slowing down (not their fault.) I knew what I was getting into going there when I did but for them to have only ONE REGISTER for hundreds of people in the bottle line I say again WTF were they thinking?

And oh yea after waiting which again is on me, the food line had gone down to only about a 20 mintue wait when I was straight across from the people in the get seated line to go in, and I still couldn't just get a draft at the bar without a wrist band. They never let people in the bottle line know that the food line was moving a little quicker if you want might want to switch to get some grub or a pour. blah blah blah I know.

Man you guys had me worried, so I flew up there tonight, arrived around 9ish. Didn't even need to bother with parking garage, plenty of spots in their lot. Walked right up to the bar. Filled my growler & grabbed a case. In line at 2AM?? Pffffffllllpptttt

Agreed that it has become an utter and complete gong show to acquire bottles. BPT would make a whole lot more sense. I'd venture to say that based on how quickly they are looking to offload this batch that they are looking to get above and beyond their FY 13 sales projections to look better to future investors. Expansion is inevitable.

I could have sworn they had bottles of this for a good week or two last year.

    What the hell.

The bottle limit is higher this year and there was a bit more hype this year it seemed. Also, with the higher limit, a lot more people brought mules this time to really stock up. I know of at least 4 people that had 3 or 4 mules with them.

I'm still surprised that a successful company with a bunch of employees like RR could be so absolutely incompetent when it comes to event management. Sure there were a lot of customers today, but having a single ridiculously-slow POS for the bottle-only line and no clarity or differentiation between the lines early in the day was a stupid move. Par for the course along with their growler policy.

At the very least they should really sell bottles out the back door, in the parking lot or over at the production facility. Then the people who want to party at the pub can line up for it and it would break up the crowd. But I have a feeling Vinnie and Natalie like seeing everyone lined up for hours out front because they just want the attention and publicity...it seems more important to them than running their business efficiently and prioritizing customer satisfaction.

It's funny how much of a disparity exists between breweries like RR and breweries who do it right.

The GF vetoed my trip out to RR after our stop on Friday. I'm looking for 3 bottles. Anyone who has any interest in my cellar or my shameful story, send me a BM. I'm hitting up Firestone later this week as well.

I can not thank you two enough for going into the line of fire for us. This shit seems so petty compared to the shitshows you guys probably put up with on a daily basis. I will gladly send you two a bottle of Beat when you guys get home if you are not taken care off. Again thanks for your service ! America, Fuck yeah !

Wow, it really baffles me the mixed results people are sharing on this release. From my POV, got in line about 7:30 with two friends. We were inside buying bottles by 9:30. Took the 3 case of Beatification and our case of Pliny and case of Blind Pig back to the car in the parking garage and picked up our growlers. Headed to the back door, got our hands stamped, had our growlers filled by 10:30. Quick pour before we headed out, and we left by 11:15.

Then it seems like everything went to shit for several hours, and folks that showed up around 9 pm or so were able to just walk right in and get whatever they wanted.

To the folks saying it was confusing, why didn't you just ask an employee what was what? I saw Natalie right around 9 am, asked here how it was going to work, followed her instructions and had no problems.

Still, despite the logistics, doesn't sound like anyone got shut out yesterday, so I'd say it went well despite the pretty large crowd.

I'm sure if they went the BPT route (or some other online route), it'd be sold out by now and we'd just have a different group of folks in here complaining about not getting bottles.
