only one review on here from 1998 http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/126/380 Which was around when I was drinking it... I remember it being 7-8% which back then was crazy high for a beer. I was working at a movie theater that had it on tap... we were allowed one shift drink at the end of the night... they never said how BIG of a shift drink so I would also use the GIANT 32oz soda glass. And would often top it off a few times. I even have a springfest t-shirt I got from that job. I still wear it but it's starting to fall apart. I did a GIS to find a pic of the shirt and got nothing. I really liked that beer... but I am sure my palate is way different now... These days I only really drink bocks during bockfest. I don't even like dead guy anymore.
I have a Pete's Wicked Brews mirror that my aunt gave me, I believe she found it at a garage sale or a thrift shop. I believe I even googled it and came up with nothing, deciding it must have been some homebrewers project. Wish I could try some of it but that ship has sailed. That mirror now adorns my cellar/ beer shelf.
Yeah-from what I remember Pete's started tossing out a ton of beers right before they fell off the planet and I think this was one of them. Sad-back in what historians call "the day" their stuff sold as well as Sam Adams. I still have a Pete's Wicked Ale neon and a Pete's Wicked Red shirt!
Oh yeah! Pete's was one of my first foray's into craft beer. Seems like they did a winter beer too that was pretty good (at least by 15-year-ago standards). I used to also enjoy their summer ale before it was turned into Rally Cap...maybe it was my still developing buds but it never tasted as good after.
Really liked the Strawberry Blonde. The regular ale was good, too. I consider this my first craft beers.
Granted like everyone else my tastes have changed, but I remember the regular (especially on tap) was a damn good brown ale. I bought a keg of it for my college graduation!
I remember hearing the commercials for Pete's Strawberry Blonde when I was a kid and saying " I'm so gonna drink that when I get older!" never got the chance.
Mid 90's I drank a lot of regular Pete's. I also have fond memories of the summer beer but it could have been the label
Rally Cap? That was a great summer brew. I still have a Rally Cap pint glass. Strawberry Blond was definitely one of my first fruit beers...maybe it's nostalgia but I wish I could still grab one today.
I still have two unopened bottles of Strawberry Blonde saved. I think they are from 2011. Any idea what they would taste like now?
I enjoyed his wicked ale when it was around. Pete even visited a time or 2 at my local back in the 90's, The old Amherst Ale house in Amherst Mass.
