looking for a 4pk of BB Plead the 5th. Before I throw out a misinformed offer, I'd like to get an idea of what's reasonable. What are some examples of single bottles that it would take? What was the cost of this year's BBPt5?

in terms of other single 12 ounce bottles, 1:1 is going to look something like

    Black Note
    BB4D
    BCBS Coffee

a 4 pack is going to be other similarly limited/good beers. maybe a Backyard Rye would get you 4 bottles, or a Darkness, Hunaphu, stuff like that?

i think this years will trade higher with the (x) factor worked into the formula. How cold was it in line? What sort of shape were the port a johns in? And on a completely unrelated note, how does it taste this year?

    Comments or smart remarks?

I was going to ask a similar quesiton so apologies for piggybacking.

Would any of these qualify for 1:1?

NG WIld Sour, Berline Weiss, Engima (2012) or 20th Anniversery Strong?
    GI BCBS 2012?
    CW BBCherry Stout (2012)?
Tyranena Dveil Made me Do it (2012)?

I don't think most of those have a chance of going 1:1 personally. Most are under $4$, and all those were widely distributed releases. BBPt5 was $5.50/bottle and brewery only. I understand there was quite a bit available this year, but you still had to go to the brewery and get there by 4am to get any (unless you came from Chicago and walked to the front of the line.

Thanks. They're all under $4$ by about 1/2. Wasn't sure if the age or lack of availability (now) would counter that.

man, don't even go there. If I consider the 1100 mi drive, stepping in frozen vomit in the parking lot after the release party and trekking home over Donner Pass in blizzard conditions for hours, this Pappy Eclipse should trade for 2 Rares, a BVDL AND a 4pk of BBPt5!

I've heard it has less barrel presence this year. I've had neither.

It seems people bought cases of them (at leastfrom the post your haul thread). I can't imagine that it will be that hard to get a bottle.

Just wait two months until the "next big thing" comes out and the trade value of BBpt5 will be much lower. You'll likely find takers for something like a 2013 BCBCS or BCBarleywine at this time. People will realize they actually don't need 24+ bottles of BBpt5 and might want to try something new.

2 case limit, but you had to line up early in the AM to get any, and it sold out in a day.

I lined up at 8pm the night before. I also wore sandals because I thought it would be like ~60 degrees out... Boy, was I wrong! I got frost bite and lost both of my feet. If I trade any of my BBAPt5, then I will be adding the cost of my prosthetic feet to any $4$ deals. I need to be able to walk again so I can go back next year and wear sandals again, but this time my feet will be fine. Thank god.

As a proud owner of 2 cases of BBPt5, I agree with this above assessment.
