For me, Cuvee Des Jacobsins Rouge is my go to sour that is available year round. Tilquin has also been pretty available around Chicago so I have been drinking a lot of that. What is your go-to off the shelf sour?

Duchesse de Bourgogne, but it and most Belgians are too pricey for me. The wife loves it, but every time she see the price she says not going there...

Petrus Aged Pale, because A.) it's delicious, B.) it's relatively cheap, and C.) you can get it in easily consumable 12 oz 4 packs.

Also, Duchesse de Bourgogne...for the same reasons.

Tilquin is great, I also do like the Cuvee Rene from Lindemans. Their fruit ones are too sweet, (the Kreik, Peche, cerise etc,) but this one has a nice tartness to it.
Both of those are pretty affordable, too, compared to 3 Fonteneine (which is fantastic, of course, but not at $40 for a 750ml bottle)

I apologize in advance for my passionate response below. But Petrus Aged Pale was the beer that got me started on sours and remains one of my favorites.

Petrus Aged Pale is far more "sour" than Petrus Oud Bruin (or any of there other offerings that I've been able to try). It is aged for 22-36 months and isn't blended with fresh beer to tone it down like most Oud Bruins. BA classifications be damned, Aged Pale is a sour without a doubt.

Rodenbach Vintage is pretty darn yumtastic. This is usually on the shelf at my local shop for months when they get a shipment.

I would go with any Jolly Pumpkin, or Russian River stuff if you can find it.

Petrus Aged Pale is quite sour and nothing like Monk's Cafe flemish sour which is above it, for example. I'd put it firmly in the sour camp, personally.

Tart of Darkness of pretty awesome and sits on the shelves forever (here in Chicago at least)… A bit too pricey for me to partake regularly though.
