I just want some on tap. Would travel for draft Peche'cus!

Interesting. As the OP, my intent was to inform locals who I assume patronize Freetail to some extent, but due to work commitments, etc., may not otherwise get out on a weeknight. Thankfully my son checked their website and out to Freetail we went and the rest, as they say, is history. I know I'd been waiting since Aug to have the opportunity to get some Peche'cus and would have appreciated knowing it was available for sale, since I'm typically not out during the week (cursed full-time employment). So, what's the consensus, let fellow BAs know about these sort of releases through this channel or keep it quiet?

I for one, thank you. Every e-mail I have sent Scott has had some sort of mention about bottling Peche'cus. My dreams have come true. I can finally take the finest sour I have ever had, and take it home with me. I stop by Freetail every so often for lunch or just bottles, but due to me being outside a 30 mile radius, I can't justify driving down there twice a week to drink beer. Especially since I have to drive back home. So, after you posted that it was available, I sent my wife to get some. Does this make me a bad person? Maybe, but those who know me, know I suck as a human being. As I said before, a young lady was talking about a Alesmith type sale, and I think that will work out well for Freetail. If there are 300 bottles of this and 80-90 get released at a time, all the locals should be able to get some. If I know that there is a Freetail bottle to be had, and some poor schmuck has been there every day of the week except that day, you're damn right I'm gonna let him know (which I did).

Wow, that kinda went on longer than I thought...on a side note, my first Pliny is delicious and is kicking my ass!

I say let it happen but whatever, I'm sure people will disagree. Lurkers/ hoarders/the grinch/other "bad" people could easily follow Freetail (or whoever for that matter) on twitter, Facebook, download the app and this is one additional forum of communication. Being a regular shouldn't be the only qualification or else they should just make you show a frequent Freetailer card to get releases like this

I'm glad you posted it! I'm in Dallas so I'd never be able to react to a posting like this, but I think more information is always better.

    Cheers,
    Chad

I'm surprised if people are actually upset. As if this was a fool proof to stop hoarders. I'm glad I got a bottle and went back Tuesday to buy a gift for somebody and overheard the lady at the bar talking to another employee about how she recognized a customer that was in there earlier that bought 4 bottles(him and his wife). She went and told him something but just told him not to do it again. The guy got 6 bottles that day and that's not cool but whatever. Anyway that's the only way I knew about it and decided I'd buy another. Pure luck.
Wouldn't letting people know about it being available be an advocate which is the point of this site? Not letting people know is worse and being absolutely selfish. Freetails intent was to create a frenzy but they know people will talk. How can they not?
Lets get over rewarding locals or regulars already. It's old. THis is about being in the right place at the right time. If anything create a list and have people sign it when they get bottles. It might stop people like i mentioned above with that one guy. You'll say that's extreme but everybody is worried about hoarders buying all their beer.

If it wasn't you it would have been someone else. Outside of that I have no opinion.

We're still talking about beer, right?

I get that Freetail wants to make sure locals/regulars have a chance to get it before Houston guys swoop in and fill their trunks up (I'm looking at you, Matt! ) but no matter what you do, word WILL get out. BA is not the only medium for information transmission - I heard about this on FB and via text before I ever saw anything about it on BA, so don't worry so much about it.

I live 90 minutes away from Freetail, and wasnt going to drive all the way down there for 2 bottles, so I hope some locals who support Freetail by eating/drinking there regularly enjoy the beer, and I'll enjoy what I get here.

I got 2 bottles... but just by happenstance was driving through SA that day. If I'm in the city limits: you bet yer ass I'm stopping at Freetail. Thank you fate!

I don't blame the folks in SA for keeping it under wraps and more power to them the longer they can do it. Either way, I think someone would have done it eventually.

I've made the drive to Austin more times than I can count for just a few bottles of beer. I guess at least with JK I know it'll be there though.

Probably from my untapped check-ins. Lol
