Out of curiosity, anyone know what these (non-eszett) go for? Trying to get my hands on some bottles and am clueless.

A metric buttload. I know, very helpful.

So few hit the open market, it's tough to gauge. I would be willing to guess most of the people with a bottle would want to go 1:1 though.

I like your use of SI units!

I considered myself lucky to land a Uli 750 1:1 for a CCK if that helps

Based on the Brews for New Avenues charity auction a couple months ago, you would need more than an Armand seasons box set and less than a complete Lost Abbey Track set. It's difficult to judge prices from a charity auction, but you can at least compare how items sold compared to other items.

IIRC, there were 4 750ml bottles of Uli beers on auction. 3 of them went for the buy-it-now price of $500, and the other went for a little less than that.

In my opinion (full disclosure, I have a few h.ertie bottles), these are very difficult to trade for because:
    1. These blends are often sublime, it's difficult to "trade up" in flavor when starting with h.ertie
    2. There are no releases or shops for you to obtain the bottles in the first place.

So it takes what would perhaps be considered a severe imbalance (ghost whale 1:1 or regular whale 2+:1) to get it done, at least for those who care about the quality and taste of their beer. I personally prefer to just share these bottles with friends.

Sometimes I have to make myself forget I could've bought several boxes of Eszett at one point.

I think we all have that beer. I could have bought Partridge all day long when it came out.

I have never had that moment. My "beer" would have been Abyss I think...

I would be infinitely more pissed about the Eszett situation.

Partridge took perhaps the biggest nose-dive of any 'whale' (past or present), in terms of both trade value and taste. Would love to see an infographic or chart on its demise/decline. People who were saving it for the "12 days vertical" are now scrambling to quietly unload them at/just above perceived cost. Its truly an amazing situation.

Uli shared a couple of bottles of his Birthday blend with us at Borefts! They had a production label, so perhaps some of those will be floating around. Uli indicated that he would probably be doing more bottle sales in the near future. Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

Can someone give me the story behind these beers? Is it a dude who blends gueuze for himself, or does he work for some sort of brewing establishment?

Got 2 bottles for a metric boatload of De Garde shipped to Germany. Seems to me that Uli uses stubby corks

Yowzah. Well done. I'm curious as to the conversion 750ml to boatload units ;-)
