lol A goodbye sale. Thanks for choosing not to re-up with the Bruery on the way out. For your discontinued patronage, please pillage our remaining stock on your way out.

    I just...don't see that ever happening. :stuck_out_tongue:

I'm glad they did the welcome sale. I was bummed they weren't doing SitR kumquats this year and I really want to try the Wanderer. It would have been nice to have had beauregarde though

They're not doing many sours at all this year, outside of their old standbys. It's nice to see another run of Filmishmish though.

Really? That's a huge loss of income for the bruery, especially considering the amount I would have spent. I have no way of joining for next year, im sure I'm not the only one in this circumstance. I spent over 2gs at the bruery this past year, would have been nice to have a few stuff up and not just their regular line. I don't see that being far fetched

Any loss of sales is likely balanced by the welcome sale, between existing members picking up a few extra bottles (like Wanderer for example) and new members getting a crack at some of last year's beers. They probably could've balanced both a year-end sale as well as the welcome sale, but considering how much people complain about any decision they make about sales (12 Days of Christmas bottles not rare enough, Wanderer allocations not being as big as City Beer Store's and an RS-exclusive going to non-RS members, etc.), it's in their best interest to focus on pleasing people who are giving them money on an ongoing basis - the 2014 HS and RS.

I had it and Mocha Wednesday last night. Both phenomenal beers. The coffee in the Mocha Wednesday counters the sweetness of the Black Tuesday perfectly. This one is going to be a hit!!!!!!!

Opened a bottle a few nights ago, and it was wonderful. Smells and starts out like a deep red wine and finishes with that BT we all know and love.

How is it a huge loss of income? They're not throwing the bottles away. They'll be sold one way or another. Today, tomorrow, or in a future cellar sale, where I imagine, they'd sell the remaining stock for even more money. I don't see it being far fetched either, I simply don't see a place opening up the reserves for people who won't be returning going forward. Just my opinion, which means nothing, but it's probably better served to use any access to welcome people that are going to be spending money going forward.

Didn't see it posted here yet, the RS shipment this quarter will include Chocolate Rain, Tripel Tonnellerie and Tumescence. Nice haul this time.

You mean Preservation, not Reserve. That won't ship until the end of Q1 since those beers will not be released until Feb and March.

    Yeap, Preservation, my mistake.

For those Socialites who ship beer to a trustee in CA, what's your advice on the specific quantity of Flex Shippers? The first allotment is 4 bottles for RS and I assume there will be additional bottles released between now and the next allotment. I don't know if I should stick with the 6-bottle option or go higher to save on shipping.

I would definitely send your person a 12 bottle shipper than send a 6 bottle shipper full as a gesture and they can send both back as you are going to need to send plenty of them through out the year

I'm interested in trying to trade for at least one of those, what was your favorite one? Mocha or wine?

If you're the one making the trade, why not trade for the one that sounds better to you?

Anyone hear when the Initiation Party is suppose to be? I heard a tentative plan was suppose to be for Feb 8. My wife and I already booked tickets from Chicago after we heard of a potential date. As much as I'm excited to return to the Bruery itself, I am still hoping for a bit of luck for the party!
