This should be an exploding BA DL thread. Better to undermine the trade value of those

Here's a thought. Perhaps when bottles explode, the first thing you should do is take a picture and then contact the brewery. It seems to yield better results than starting panic-inducing threads like this one. I've had two beers (from different breweries) explode in the past, and I received replacements with absolutely no dispute or hassle.

Contacting a brewery would just be too damn logical though.

reminds me of when some life and limb bottles were exploding. sierranevadabill posted about it, and they eventually discovered that it was a very isolated incident of flaws in the glass. haven't heard of any life and limb bottle bombs since.

Lots of stuff! Heres the link to the tap list, but they have all their normal beers, plus some tap onlys. They still have BA Ice Grill on tap from DLD, though from my limited recollection of that day, it tasted like a sprite & whiskey.

    Whoosh!

Just trying to poke fun at the people that ignore the tap list online and don't call the source. But, you win 1 internet for a helpful reply (no sarcasm :grinning:)!

No, putting a thread on BA and complaining about it to the world is much better, and it goes a long way toward solving the problem as well.

Just to note, I just took one of my Dark Lords that was stored by a heater, shook it as hard as I could for 5 minutes, gave it 10 quick whacks against the counter, and loosened the cap. The bottle exploded alll over the place. I'm ticked. Then, I poured out the bit that was left in the bottle and it tasted like green apples. Three Floyds sucks. Screw them.

Cut the dude some slack. If people are storing their Dark Lords with a bunch of other bottles and DL bottles are indeed popping, it's a good warning to all that they might want to isolate them.

There's certainly a precedent in the forums of cellared bottles going off and taking collateral damage.

Most 22oz bottles are designed to blow out the bottom of the bottle in an over pressure scenario. Whereas a bottle failure due to a flaw in the bottle...ie: a air bubble in the glass, seam failure, fracture in the neck or cap sealing surface at the lip of bottle, will literally explode when the flaw gives way.

There are bottles coming from China that are of very poor quality and there are a lot out in the market.
