I have a few (almost a year old) IPAs in the fridge that I don't plan on drinking (they weren't good fresh...). Anyone have any ideas on what I can do with them? I hate wasting things...

Chili! Once you throw in the meat you're cooking with put about 9oz. of an IPA in it and let it boil down for a little bit, adds an extra layer of oomph to your chili.

Or target practice. There's always target practice.

Give em to your bmc drinking buddies when they come over to watch the game, trust me they wont tell the difference, infact they may even find it flavorful.

Do you have household plants? If so, it's not wasting if you're hydrating a living organism.

If you think it will happen again, invest in a beer cookbook.

It's got electrolytes- it's what plants crave!

Actually, I'm not so sure if that's a great idea- wouldn't the alcohol effect the plants?

Sometimes, if they're not too old, I'll just blend them with another beer. The beer batter is also a great idea. An IPA might be too bitter for a chili.

There's tons of ways to cook with beer. Be careful though, as hoppy brews don't always work well with some recipes (I know the hops have faded in your brews, but there will still be some). That said, some recipes are just fine hoppy beers, if not enhanced by them. If you google a few things your bound to come up with something.

Also, someone else had once posted a list of all these different things one can do with beer. I don't have that list, but it was extensive. If I recall, there was a way to turn it into beer shampoo, ha ha.

Or just give it to guests that come over who are just getting into craft and "aren't into hoppy and bitter stuff."

Despite the fact that many will drink beer if you give it to them, hops are actually toxic to dogs and can kill them. If you're joking, that's fine; but the thought of my dog dying from beer isn't funny at all to me.
