Just came across some chatter on the tweetbox about DR13 being an unmitigated disaster. Anyone cracked one open lately?

I just opened 1 last weekend. It didn't taste any different than what I remember it tasting like fresh.

Had one a few days ago. Excellent as always. A bit more chocolaty malt taking over the dark fruits. Try it for yourself, only trust your own tastes, and don't listen to other people. They usually have no clue what they are talking about...ohm so I guess take this with a grain of salt :grinning: I still think it is great though.

Agree with the posts on here, I had one on Christmas (I think, it was sometime around then at least) and it was as good as ever

No one's being very specific about what exactly is wrong with it, except maybe it's gotten too "sweet."

I only have 1 bomber at the moment, so I'm hesitant to open it and see. Glad to hear everyone else here thinks it's still divine.

Yeah, nothing wrong with it. Don't know what the hell any of those guys are talking about. Its the anti hype to the hype, or reverse local bias, or some damn thing. Drink the bomber. Worst thing that happens is you don't really enjoy it. Most likely, still excellent though.

I am not a huge fan of the way DR13 is drinking right now, however I would not call it a disaster. I do think it is a bit too sweet and it has just not come together enough yet (for my tastes), but that is just my opinion. It is still quite drinkable, just not what I was expecting it to develop into.

I still have a few more bottles and am curious to see if more time can pull it all together.

I think maybe people are hearing the talk about DR12 being a mess and are assuming the worst for 13.

I think the issue is Twitter is stupid, and nobody their knows what they are talking about...other than that, you got me?

I know you got plenty of replies already, but I guess one more opinion wont hurt. Ive been going through my 6 pack steadily since it was released last yr. No problem then, no problem now, its still good, maybe just a little boozier, but other than that I find its a great quad!

had one over christmas, still tasted great to my palate. But all my DR's have been kept in a dark cooler at 55 degrees.... no hot shelf turds over here

haven't had a DR12 in a while...some of the posts now have me interested to crack one....I'll take one out of the cellar to put in the fridge and try it some night the week....

Any chance of putting DR13 in barrels for a future BB release?

Don't know what the hell those people are talking about. I had it for the first time a few weeks ago, so with nothing to compare it to, but it may have been the best American quad I've had so far. There was definitely nothing wrong with it. Maybe they just don't know what a quad is supposed to taste like?

This has been discussed. When the original DR13 was packaged, we filled four bourbon barrels. These will most likely be sold at the brewery only, like BB2 Brett. And yes, they taste great.
