Possible bad trader

    I dont want to name names yet but here is the story, Ill let you decide.

    Sunday night I agreed to a deal for a vanilla ba DL and some small wants in exchange for rare/damon/lebleu. Addys were exchanged. Around 8pm monday I told him he was packed up and will go out today.

    Midday today he makes an iso for one of the beers we agreed on. Weird I thought, but maybe he wants multiples. He also didnt acknowledge my message stating hes packed and ready to go.

    Around 530 he tells me not to ship. That someone shipped him a box that he thought was a dead deal, and he felt obligated to take that deal. I had the box rerouted(almost missed that by 2 minutes) but Im still out $25 in shipping costs.

    Not saying hes a scammer but at the very least this is really uncool.

    p.s. if anyone with ba/vanilla dl is interested in the above 3, the box is packed up and readly lol :-/

    Once address are exchanged and both traders agreed to the deal then its done in my book. No possible about it in my book thats a bad trader.

    Yeah bad trader. Seems to be a frequent happening as of late. I was addicted to trading and had a few similar experiences and got a bad taste in my mouth.

    I don't know precisely what label you apply to someone that does that, but he owes you $25.

    The iso he made was for one of the beers i was going to send him. Im thinking he found a way to get them without trading his vanilla DL....

    Much agreed ..very much a dick move.. Sounds like he had his BA DL on the auction block...and some one offered more AFTER you guys deal WAS FINALIZED!! Good luck getting your shipping fees back..

    i'd agree it should be posted publicly, but op seems reluctant to do that or he'd have opened with that. i want to know because i have beer riding on some traders going rogue.

    I say ask him to ship you $25 or so worth of beer for the deal going dead on his part. You can let him know you'll go public with his name he decides not to. Then the ball is in his court.

    He'll either put up (prob while being pissed off), or he'll call your bluff.

    Out the trader.

    Getting very sick of bad trader threads without the traders getting called out.

    What is the point? So others get the same treatment later?

    I do not understand why people get a free pass when they jerk someone around...

    I guess Im naive but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. If nothing is resolved I have no issue naming names, but I guess Im hoping things can be made right

    Just my opinion, but if you want to do the whole possible bad trader thread you either have to be asking if what the trader did was enough for the community to consider him a bad trader or you have to out the bad trader. You didn't do either.

    All you did was tell us a story about how you got screwed out of $25 and didn't help us in any way by telling us who might try and do the same again. Thanks for looking out.

    I could be on my own here, but does this really qualify as a "Bad trader"? Sounds sketchy sure. This whole thing started on Sunday night though (less than 2 days ago). I guess you can't really get the other side of the story unless party B wants to out themselves.

    Actually I was trying to gauge what the community thought.."Ill let you decide". And its not unanimous. He has vouches from some of my friends so I guess like I said Im hoping this can be made right.

    Yeah, that's a dick move for sure. I wouldn't say it's quite on the same plane as a bad trader who willingly scams people out of beer then disappears or something, but still very dickish.

    I would definitely ask for reimbursement on the shipping fees he cost you. If he declines, out the dick.

    But what is the point of telling us if you have already made up your mind to not name him? Why not make the thread when you decide to name him? Right now the thread is of no value.

    it's none of my business of course, but since this is a "your opinion on this practice," thread, i think he not only owes you $25~, but backing out on a trade b/c you got a better deal somewhere else is a dick move above and beyond the shipping money you got screwed out of.

    if you (hypothetical you) are trading with me b/c you think i'm the biggest sucker who will give you the Absolutely Highest Value for your beer, you need to go trade with someone else. i prefer friendlier interactions, myself.
