It doesn't make sense because that's just one dude. The first thing you thought was "This must be Adam Jackson"? Are you truly convinced that all of the bad traders are the same guy?

Man, that other guy was dumb... He should have played the "I slipped on black ice and it broke" card...

Tax refunds are rolling in - are you more nervous about bad traders?

I was only referring to the OP's post. I read half of the posts then got bored and replied and I really don't think it was Adam Jackson; just a (bad) joke.

Haha. I feel like we've had this conversation before!
I totally was expecting JoJo to pop back up now that he got his refund though...

The only problem with this is often times these threads come out, and as the full story unravels, we see that the OP just really jumped the gun instead of trying to work out the issue with his partner. New traders, especially, get antsy when the slightest little thing goes wrong. There's no need to drag dirty laundry into the public unless the situation reaches an impasse.

I got all nervous when i saw your name to the thread that this was in somehow related to our pending trade lol :slight_frown: "ohh no, what did i do :/"

Even in that situation, the other party gets a chance to tell their side, make things right, could even post tracking in the thread instead of a BM. If this was the standard, everything would ALWAYS be out in the open, and it would eliminate "dirty laundry". It would all be transparent, and we would ALL know each other better. (I know some of us already do, but this would open that up.)

    Eh, just an idea.

Except the OP isnt new and neither is the bad trader so its not a noob mistake, it was a hey lets see if i can get more after I agreed to a deal and the other trader shipped. Were talking about someone blatantly telling someone "the box is packed and im sending" op says ok and sends then gets a by the way someone else offered a better deal so sorry your out money and not getting the beer you wanted.

= correct way to handle the situation. Like grown-ups! Imagine that.

Except that half the time the trader tries to get everything to a resolution, and by that time, another 3 traders are in the process of getting the short end of the stick.

And honestly, I don't see much maneuvering room for someone breaking off a trade after addresses have been changed and boxes have been sent. Even if the person in question in this situation returns the 25 dollars and sends a box, what are the odds anyone would be comfortable trading with him if there's a possibility of rerouting a package due to the other person's (probable) greed?

Well its a DICK move and this whole thread is not going to do the Community any good without you outing him or hearing his side of this

As for the shipping yes he screwed you and do you really think you'll see the $ doubtful he kept shopping his bottles or bottle after the deal was done so this makes him an ass bag in my book and I wouldn't want to ever trade with him again even if I've traded with him before. Its seems that more newer people are doing Auction style postings or incomplete ISO FT threads like ..... Look I have this rare limited beer he's a list of my wants send me a list of the BOTTLES that you'll send me for my 1 limited rare only chance to get this beer!
Is this what its come down too?

Out him have respect for the op in the community too we don't want this happening more frequently as seems the norm the last 6-9 months if he's been on this site for awhile so what your not helping by just masking the problem man. Be part of the solution!

I'm personally tired of these threads and the GREED of just a few people that got to SQUEEZE the last ounce out of a deal! Its not what its about. But I see things different too just want a fair deal and some good beers !

Where's the advocacy in this thread?

Not with you and not with him a few people have a sense of entitlement anymore that's really bad for everyone

I truly hope the community reads my rant and thinks about this even though it really only applies to a few people. I find my self asking sometimes reading ISO FT thinking really is this person insane .... He's asking for wooden hell and is offering off the shelf out dated beers. Some people just don't get it then when you send the a PM trying to explain it they get pissed at you.

I'm very glad I've had the chance to trade with so many like minded people! The other that asked for the world in return I just declined to trade with.

Ive been reimbursed for the initial shipping cost and supposed to be getting tracking number in a little bit for the initial box agreed on. Im sorry not everyone agrees with my logic/handling of the situation. I initially made the thread to see if I was overreacting. I wanted to give the chance to make it right before outing someone. I will update the thread accordingly..

So, I think it's totally reasonable that you chose to handle it this way. I disagree with that choice, but that doesn't make your choice wrong.

That said, are you open to telling us this guy's home state and then when people are setting up trades with new partners in that state, letting them ask you via BM whether the person with whom they're setting up a trade is the guy who nearly screwed you over? It seems like everybody (except the guy with whom you were trading) gets what they're looking for that way.

Dick move, although I'd like to hear his side of the story. Assuming you didn't jump the gun and incurred your $25 in costs legitimately, he owes you $25 or I'd say he's a bad trader.

I'm not sure this would be enough to be added to the bad traders list but its definitely an asshole thing to do. List on my profile by the way

in typical beer geek fashion - way too complicated.

OP posted to leverage the offender into making things right which is what happened. case closed.
