One week in primary and one week in secondary might not be enough time. Professional brewers (well, at least the advanced ones) have gas chromatography machines that can pinpoint the exact time when fermentation is complete, and the VDK levels are below threshold. If you're a homebrewer, I'd recommend giving it at least 10 days in primary, preferably with a slight diacytel rest if possible, then crash for a good two weeks in secondary.

Thanks for all the replies, nice to see a brewery being in touch with its fans and helping them understand their beers. I have a question, can you share msrp (if you have one) on Hi-res?

It depends on the market. One thing all of our customers should know though is every wholesaler is getting the beer at roughly the same price (with very minor difference per market) so therefore all retail stores are paying almost the exact same price for the beer from the wholesaler. Despite that, there will be wild fluctuations in the price of a 4pack per market for the end user/customer. As usual, NYC leads the charge on this.

In the outer markets you should see this for as little as $10.99-11.99 per 4pack, but in NYC you could see it as much as $13.99 and above, depending on how much they decide to mark it up. Once again, they're all paying the same price for the beer - its just that some retailers are marking it up more than others.

Do people NOT read much here? Many posts that this new SP brew just hit the distribution network late last week, and for most markets, will be hitting retail shelves (assuming your favorite beer store actually ordered it last week!) THIS week.....NJ included.....if you have questions, why not contact the SP distributor in your area (which I believe in NJ is Hunterdon)? Is that so hard?.....I don't get why there are so many clueless folks who think this is some voodoo magic, as regards the distribution of new beers....it is not

You are correct. For some reason I had thought of Sixpoint being more expensive that it actually is. I don't what I was thinking...lol. Looking forward to grabbing a 4pk this week.

The Diesel and 3Beans are in retirement right now, but you know what? The Mad Scientists have several new formulations in the pipeline..... :-)

You know what the world is sorely lacking?
Some amazing barrel aged beers in cans..
I feel Sixpoint would be able to fill that void spectacularly! :grinning:

We have a special secret to share....we will be releasing a JD Willet Bourbon Barrel Aged version of the 3Beans this year - same recipe with Stumptown Cold Brew and Mast Brothers Chocolate - draft only though - but perfect for growlers! :-)

Lighten up Francis. We are all just here to share information. No need to insult people asking reasonable questions.

Lighten up yourself......it just gets a bit old when people constantly are on here asking when will we see "xyz beer" in my area, as if there were some magic to new beers getting distributed....to me this is not a "reasonable question".....if you want to know when a particular beer will hit a particular store or market, why not ask the store, or take it a step further and do your homework and call the local distributor for the beer you are looking for.....no one seems to know how to do that and just want to be lazy and ask......."when will it hit NJ?" All the relevant info needed to know when the new Hi Res will hit NJ was already mentioned several times in this post.....it hit most distributors late last week, early this week.....you should be able to figure it out from there.....right?? NJ is reasonably close to both Wilkes Barre (where it is brewed) and Brooklyn, so I would imagine you will see it at retail this week....

Man what happened to this place. People get so angry for nothing. No wonder why this website has been getting so many bad reviews lately. This is supposed to be a place for us to be a community, not bash people for questions or their curiosity. At least someone from Sixpoint has been kind enough to actually answer all these questions and very politely to boot.

It's beer people, it brings us together, not make us better than anyone else.
