IMO, it depends on what you like more. Personally, I like Bourbon County more than Backwoods, so I wouldnt do it. And BwB is more available than BCBS this year, so there's that. But, your pallete is different, so if you like BwB but cant find it, and are ho-hum about BCBS...do it.

but like ham said, you could probably get 2 more bottles out of the trade. 3.5 bottles would be $4$ (based on MN costs).

I wish I would have asked a few more questions before I started trading!
Backwoods is delicious, and worth seeking out. There are several factors to consider, including the rarity of the beers involved and of course how much you want to try it - that last one often trumps all others. But with two items that are comparable in rarity (as those are, though BCBS was slightly harder to find than BB this year, at least in our area), it's good to consider the price of the beers - the shorthand here is "$4$", dollar for dollar comparisons of the beers involved. In this case the $4$ tips heavily in the other guy's favor - BB is $3.50 or so per bottle, and BCBS is...whatever you paid for it (presumably $5-6/bottle). He should add on his end to make it more equitable, maybe 3 bottles of BB for 2 of your BCBS.

My 2 cents:slight_smile: Trading is a lot of fun, especially once you learn the ropes. Cheers!

I think most people would say they'd prefer the Bourbon County side, but it's 2 beers for 2 beers...not outrageous. If you really want the Backwoods, just do it and don't look back. If you're hung up on what's equitable, spend some time doing research and getting a handle on relative values before jumping into trading.

If you've already got the trade agreed to you should definitely follow through with it and if the person you are trading with has any scruples they will include some nice extras as they are undoubtedly getting the better end of the deal, IMO, in quality, rarity and price factor. With all that said if you like BB then you'll be happy to land a couple bottles.

Trading gets easier as you go. My advice is to make sure you stay a drinker and don't become a collector. It's very easy to get caught up in acquiring beers simply to acquire beers. No sense in having 20 Zombie Dusts because you won't (at least I wouldn't) drink them all while still fresh.

If your happy with it then it's more than fair IMO, especially if you've never had that particular beer. It's a 2: 2 trade, go for it. You certainly can't get hung up over a few dollars here, if you have the BC stuff to trade do it, and it's IP so you won't have to worry about shipping.

If you're ever not sure if it's fair (meaning, you don't know the rarity of the beers), just trade $4$. Ask him what he paid, and then match it to what you paid.
