HopSlam availability - SEPA

Last year The Foodery in Northern Liberties got 3 cases. They put 1.5 cases out and limited 1 6-pack per customer. I grabbed one around 6PM and my wife was able to grab another 6-pack at around 9PM. A friend told me that the owner of The Beer Store in Southampton said he sat on over a case of Hopslam for over a week. By the same token, the guy down at Moore's Beverage told me they got 1 case of Hopslam the last 3 years. He has no clue why Shangy restricts it for him considering he sells A LOT of Bell's.

I don't think it will be that easy this year considering more people know about Hopslam. I completely agree with you on Shangy's being greedy.

 

Thanks for the solid info. Information on their facebook page was scant and ambiguous. Figured it would be today, but no way I'm making the drive in this weather and a very high possibility it will be delayed. Thanks again.

 

Question: being almost equal distance between Shangys and Westies, can I go to Westies and buy 20 cases* when they put the pallets on the floor?

*not planning on doing so, just curious.

 

Pretty sure years past is one case limit.

 

Shangy's announced via facebook that it will be on sale this Friday @9am. One case per car.

 

Is it correct or foolish to assume there will be 1 case for purchase come Saturday afternoon?

I'm going to be in the area on Saturday anyway to complete 2 IP trades, so figured I'd give it a shot

 

Last year they sold out in record time though it was definitely longer than one day. I believe they got another shipment a month or so later which didnt create near the frenzy that the first allotment did.

 

Westy's said that they will sell out first day they put it out FYI

 

Tough choice between watching a 35$ case of sucks land in my lap or bend over backwards to pay 80$ for a case of the slam this week.

 

So is hopslam due to hit Shelves at Westy's on Monday 27th? Has anyone confirmed.. thanks!

 

Hopslam will be distributed by Westys's to Harrisburg area accounts beginning Monday 1-27-14. There will only be a very small amount of cases available for sale at Westy's retail beginning at 9 AM as the majority will be distributed across an 11 county area of the capital region. We anticipate selling out before noon in our retail. We will publish a list of locations receiving Hopslam on Monday 1-27-14. on our Facebook page. and maybe here if the site will allow it. Delivery dates will vary throughout the week.

To repeat, we will only have a very small amount of cases available at Westy's retail. We are not taking reservations , have a one case per customer limit, and sincerely do not encourage anyone to drive great distances to our retail for Hopslam. We don't want you to be disappointed. We will be sold out by noon at the latest.

Anybody got their case yet this morning from Shangy's. Was it a total mob scene? Planning on heading out there tomorrow morning, assuming there is any left.

 

I'd say close to 200 cases sold in the first hour. Super long line. Price was $69 + tax.

 

Any idea how much they got--more, less or the same as last year? It looks like it took about week to sell out last year based upon past threads on the topic.

Id rather drink Sucks for a little less than half the price.

 

Don't disagree as I had one just last night and stuck more in the beer fridge this morning.

However, for me personally, I enjoy the variety of great beers out there, when and, more importantly, if it is available.
