Woke up this morning to more snow. I'm getting real sick of your crap mother nature. Since this snow sucks, I thought it fitting to start the day drinking a beer that does not (even though it equally shares the same name). After finishing up shoveling, that bcbs is calling my name next then back to bed on my day off.

My old friend Edmund Fitzgerald - this should be Great Lakes flagship beer, not that insipid Gold!

Had the threat of ice and snow here in Charleston, which is unheard of. Bridges closed, nobody on the streets, sharing a few beers was the only thing that seemed logical last night.

Started off with my last Oaked Jai Alai

Next was the Black Ash. This was pretty good, very smoky. So smoky, I decided to have a La Gloria Cubana with it. Paired very well.

Had the great idea to bring the fire pit into the garage and watch the icing as it happened. Actually worked out great! The BCBCS was a nice touch.

Finished the night with the Brewer's Brunch Stout. Very nice beer, tasted like chocolate milk, with a little bit of coffee. Thanks again to @LuisQ for all the great Cigar City stuff.

We didn't get much snow, just a lot of ice. Here's a Magnolia tree covered in ice.

    Cheers y'all

Finally get to share a winter picture from the Deep South in Charleston. Lots of freezing rain and sleet, with only a few flakes in the air. With the kids and wife at home today, there will be plenty of 'responsible' consumption of fine beverages today. Cheers! [IMG]

Did areas get BCBS waxed dipped, or did you do that yourself? I haven't seen any waxed dipped around here.

Glad I managed to also get a single of Honey Badger, Earl of Brixom, and Howlin' Chinaski to get all the beers from their newest Variety Pack. This is mm-mm good.

Did it myself. Some home bottle waxing on the beers I want to age. Also works great on trading as you don't have to worry about anything going on with cap during shipping. The wax probably doesn't do much for the aging other than make it harder for me to open and thus discourage me from drinking them, lol. Glue sticks, broken crayons and a can and your gtg on a quick, cheap effective way to wax seal bottles.

I just decided that the Chocolate Wheat by Short's I just had impresses me more than... *cough*... EdFitz by GLBC. Yes, I'm serious. More depth of flavor. Dat chocolate. Dat roast. Dat ash/char finish. Couldn't stop there:

Any details or specifics on why you say that? Im from up north originally so this whole shutting down the city thing seems pretty crazy to me.
