If you can't find a ride I would just wait for distro. Killing multiple hours for 2 bottle limit doesn't sound worth it IMO, but to each his own.

Its a 2 bottle limit now...well that changes things.

Exactly. Yeah per their FB page last night 2 bottle limit on variants. I believe regular BAFH is still easilyavailable. Good luck,

We have finalized our plans for the remainder of the Coffee and Vanilla Framinghammer. Bottle limit is now 2 per variant. We will be releasing at noon today. There will be another release at 5pm on Friday. The remainder will be available on Saturday at noon.

I appreciate the staggering for those of us who can not make it to the brewery during the week.

My thoughts exactly. I had a bit of anxiety getting there around 5. I was in an out within 10 minutes. Kudos to JA for being quick and efficient!

For those interested in getting the beer on Friday afternoon. Julio's is having their release at 5pm as well. Jack will be there to answer any questions and they will have more available than we will at the brewery. It will then hit wider distribution next week across the state.

My experience with the release yesterday was awesome. Got there for 1200 got all my bottles n growlers in 10 mins put them in the car and had a few snifters before I left. One of the best releases I've been to in the last year or so. Great job IMO.

I had a similarly pleasant experience (apart from the drive from Norwell). Paid for my bottles and threw them in the car, then went back in and got a pint of Boston Steam Pie. And on the way out, I decided to get 2 more bottles of regular BA Framinghammer (sadly, they were out of Kiwi even though it was listed on the board :slight_frown:)

I agree with yesterday being smooth as well. I got there a little after 12 and was in line for maybe 10-15 minutes max. No problem at all got my bottles and left. Staff was very helpful and kept things moving right along. Can't wait to crack them open and try.

I think JA releases beer the right way. No pre sale tickets, no order # and wait 2hrs, no online BS, I am sure there are many other ways. They just provide a date tell people and produce the beer. Sometimes they even release beer before there expected dates.

    ?

The date was announced in advance. Not every place gets out of control like the Treehouse

yes, but to be fair JA demand isn't exactly HF demand

They announced it 3 days in advance is what it looks like on facebook and a little before that here. That's not a ton of notice. I wouldn't be surprised if people anticipate this release next year. JA will also likely have a larger following by then as well.

Jack wrote some tasting notes for people mentioning variations from last year:

Like all of our seasonal beer, sometimes noticeable differences may occur. For the most part we enjoy the seasonal variations that contribute subtle changes to hop, malt, spice, or in the case of the Framinghammer, bourbon barrels.

This years BA Framinghammer shows some variation from last year mainly as a result of the bourbon barrels we used. Last year we sourced barrels in January from the Willet Distillery. This year we needed barrels around Thanksgiving and sourcing them became quite the challenge. We finally found a distiller, Four Roses, that would have fresh barrels. We scheduled delivery for the week before Thanksgiving but the barrels were lost in transit! Unfortunately Four Roses had no more barrels to ship so we had to wait until their next bottling run after which they immediately shipped the fresh barrels.

The barrels we ended up receiving were amazingly fresh. In fact most barrels still had a considerable amount of bourbon still in them. I doubt we'll ever see barrels this fresh and wet again. Consequently this years BA versions are more bourbony and "boozy" than years past.

Awesome! I suspected it was probably a difference in barrels. Nice to know that my palate doesn't deceive me.
