What beer are you drinking now? #468

I am now drinking a Round Barn Indecision Ale that was sent to me by the brewery - I had sent an email to them about my last bottle, figuring it was an issue on their end, and it was. It's not a GREAT beer, but it's a solid beer that's way better than the mess I had the first time around.

It took a mere 48 hours from email to arrival, as well. I didn't expect a shipment, but got a free six-pack. Thanks again, Round Barn. I'll be visiting next time I'm in Western Michigan.

Going to Max's on a Friday morning is becoming a trend. No pics because taking my IPad down town is a no go. I started with Unibroue Maudite. It was beautiful, second was Blue Mountain Evil 8. It's a solid Dubbel but the finish and after taste is the clear winner for me. Then did a side by side with Ruination and Palate Wrecker. They're exceptional IMO, but the winner was.... Ruination. Palate Wrecker had a nicer color but aroma wise, wasn't as bright as Ruination. They both have similar tastes but Palate Wrecker is more dense in body than Ruination. Ruination wins because it's clean, light and has a rich aroma and I could drink this everyday.

Warning: small rant ahead
This day has been one of the most stressful in recent history. Our dog had to go in for surgery to get a mast cell tumor removed. Hopefully its just a Grade 1. On the way to the vet, my car gets stuck at the entrance of our development. Our HOA sucks balls, and my WRX does not have the clearance for 26 inches! I left my car there, along with two others that have been stranded and take Cubby to the vet. We took my girfriends car (suv), the precedes to tell me get rid of that sports car and get a truck. She's probably right. We get back to a town police officer, and no car. My car has been towed to the senior center. Luckily no ticket! At this point I decide to call in, no work today, too much shit going on. I'm going to enjoy a few sips of this before the nastygram to our HOA gets written. Then I must rescue my car.

I picked this up after me and a bar keep split a case of this ( they will not be mentioned).



Mosaic seems to be this "it" hop as of late. I don't mind Mosaic, but there is this subtle hint of watermelons that I don't like. There is some citrus undertones, but for 11 % wow-zerz! This beer hides it booze! The flavor has a sharp green grape and pear flavor to it that I enjoy. And maybe after Palate Wrecker and Ruination, the 111 IBUs seem meaningless.

This isn't Sucks but it is in another Ball Park all it's own. So it is unfair to compare. Am I glad I have more? YES!
I am starting to appreciate American brewers that can hide their booze in an IIPA. Thank You Victory and Thank You Sixpoint!
