That's all the information I have on the dinner, but I figured it was worthy of a post here. I'm not sold based on that description/interaction alone though. Thoughts?

I'm sure it will be awesome, given Hay Merchant's history with beer dinners. That being said, $125 is a bit too rich for me to just take their word for it.

Ah here's a bit more info from their site:

"Kevin will clear out his personal beer cellar–filled with vintage and rare bottles–for an 8-course, tapas-style dinner at Hay Merchant. The $125 ticket includes food and gratuity–Kevin is donating the beer (tax is additional). All beers will be revealed at the dinner–no hints ahead of time! Tickets available now at Hay Merchant."

Ya I saw this as well. 125$ is too much for zero info. I'm sure it will be great but I will not be there. They should release 3 or 4 of the beers to give people an idea what the stuff will be like.

I'm guessing the beers will be from out of state and not legally be sold in Texas, hence why he's "donating" them, like with previous beer classes. Would be nice to know how many different beers there will be, number of ounces poured per person, etc. Kinda hard to throw $125 plus tax toward tapas and beers of unknown value.

I'm sure Kevin has a great cellar, the beers will be excellent.

If there was a Cottonwood beer dinner, we would all buy $125 blindly and quick, because we know what Dajtai007's cellar looks like. I am not sure Kevin keeps multiple cellars all over the country though.

I just invite myself over to Daniel's place and drink his beer. Much cheaper than $125.

Would be nice to at least have some styles. If its a line up of Belgians or Barley Wines theres no way Id drop that kind of coin, I just dont enjoy those enough... Stouts or sours? Sign me up

While I'm sure Kevin has an excellent cellar and the beers AND the excellent food are probably worth the $125, I'd have to agree with cfrobrew that I would want to know what styles. If he picked out 5 world class IPA's I would be pissed (yes I know IPAs should not be aged, just an example).

They had a beer dinner a few weeks ago that was great.

Only $60. I have done the Hay Merchant dinners as well, and Daniel's was amazing. Just as good as the one HM dinner I went to (I think was Real Ale, and excellent as well, I think that was in the $80 range, can't remember now). Cottonwood did one with Karbach not to long ago, did not make that one.
