So Wicked Weed has announced that their first bottle release will be on March 1 at 12 noon. They're releasing bottles of Serenity, their GABF gold medal winning beer. Unfortunately, their doing it at pretty much the same time that Black and Blue V will be going on in Charlotte. I was hoping I could persuade someone in the Asheville area who was going to the release to pick me up a few bottles (I haven't seen anything about bottle limits yet). I would of course send you money for the bottles in advance and will make it worth your while with a nice package of beers not available in the Asheville area. If you're game, please BM me.

    Cheers,
    Justin

Is it going to be a limited release? Also, I thought Freak was going to be first? They had the bottle art for Freak up a few months back.

I'd heard something similar but based on their Twitter, it's going to be Serenity. It sounds like it's a limited release but not clear just how limited.

Bummed I'll miss this. I'd love to throw back a couple bottles of Serenity and see how it ages. I'll be at B&B as well though.

Well this is convenient. My girlfriend and I are visiting Asheville for the first time that very weekend. Now I just need to convince her to deal with inevitable shenanigans, but minor details...

She has to understand. It's not all about her. This is going to happen. Whether she likes it or not.

Shoot, I get bottles there all the time... Granted they're 1/2 gallon sized, but bottles non the less... Carp19, my kid is in College in Charlotte, I get down there every now and again, could bring you down some.. I can't send it down with him as he's under aged. But if nothing else pans out let me know, I will see what I can do.

I was always under the impression that a sour was coming first, but that could have been wikipedia level hearsay.

Well, Serenity is a sour. So your impression is correct.

It will be very limited. 4 bottles per person limit with a $10.95 price tag. No idea of bottle size though. Also it will be on tap as well.

Anyone ever get Black Angel in a growler? I tried but was denied...not even a 1/2...

yeah sadly they don't do barrel aged stuff in growlers, I'd love to take home some of the Genesis Grand Cru. Im on the fence about going to get bottles of this.

It would help to know the bottle count. If it's a decent number and I can get there close to 12 and get a few, then i'll probably do so. But if i'm going to have to get there at 8 and wait just to assure myself of getting my allotment then i'm gonna pass. The only thing i've seen them say about a # is "not enough for distribution", though they may have posted it somewhere and I just missed it.

Huntsville, Al native here driving up on Saturday and afraid I won't make it in time to buy some.... if any Asheville native could aquire me a bottle or two I would happily arrange a trade for some of our local beer (Straight To Ale, YellowHammer, etc).

Eh, I just decided to suck it up, go early and then book it back to Charlotte for Black and Blue.

As I had mentioned, I'll be visiting from Orlando this weekend and I'm in for this. Any suggestions from locals on how early to show up? I noticed the website didn't have a lot of info on it right now.

Anyone on here planning on bringing any bottles for a bottle share? I heard that the owners were ok with it as long as it was discreet. Also heard that there were going to be around 4000 bottles. Anyone heard the same?

I saw on Twitter that they said no on the bottle share but perhaps that was part of it being discreet. Clearly not discreet if it's on Twitter. I may bring a bottle or two for the line. Anyone know what time folks are going to start lining up? Trying to decide how early to leave Charlotte.
