Had this getting ready for Hunahpu day in a few weeks

 

Bigfoot 2014 Bigfoot is one of the few beers that I think is better with a year on it, but it is very good fresh.

 

A 1+1=3 Blend: Carton Boat Beer (4+) 4.4% ABV + Oscar Blues Dales Pale Ale (4+) 6.5% makes for an even better blend, I could drink Carton all day long, and I could blend these two all evening long. Try it!

A: A great beer gets more body, more copper, and stickier. +
S: Wine like complexity in the clapotis of hops. (share that word with your lover!)
T: Long, long, complex blend compared to either brew alone.
F: Smooth, good weight, long, long finish.

Carton Boat Beer - A hoppy session APA 4.26
look: 4 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4 | overall: 4.5

I give this beer a 4.5 for being a flavorful, true session APA with plenty of bite, bitter, and complexity. If I had to drink beer all day long, this would be for me.

A: Pours a very hazy light blonde with a trace of visible carbonation. It pours into a tulip with a finger of head and leaves lots of dotty lacing.
S: Plentiful aromas of grapefruit, herbal hops and pine resin, stronger as the beer warms. Pleasantly hoppy.
T: The taste follows the smell but the pine resin kicks in stronger and longer. More complexity and a good finish of bitterness. A nice sweet malt underlayer, but hops win the show.
M: It is light-bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: Extremely flavorful. This is the hop heads session beer, beats Bitter American which is a close 2nd, but entirely different character.

This was lighter than expected, but still tasty.

 

Starting Monday evening out with a nice brown ale... It's feeling like a New Glarus kind of night. Cheers!

 

Some nice sushi at Morimoto's with a Double Overhead IPA from Maui Brewing. Wow!

 

Well it only took me 3 tries to finally get a photo to appear...welcome to the 21 century...and my beer.
