You'll have no problem getting it then. Don't think you'd have any problem getting any of the special taps either. The taps might run out eventually but I've never seen them run out that fast.

Tweak seemed to run out pretty quick at the Rumpkin release... Looking forward to trying it this time around!

    Very good stuff.
When I asked they said it was a blend of Czar and Out of Mind, aged in bourbon barrels and vanilla beans tossed in

    To
To me it tasted of a fake vanilla. I expected more of a vanilla bean taste vs an extract taste.

Least amount of people I've seen at a release there. Should be plenty to go around for the stores here in CO

ya, i was expecting alot more people. we showed up around 11:30 and were second in line. i dont think the line reached the garage door by 1pm. earlier release and weather probably both helped.

nice chill time in line, lovely lady servers. thank you beautifuls.

Khodynka is definitely whole vanilla beans... Thomas (the only other person in the special projects department with me) grabbed them from Savory Spice Shop, sliced them by hand, put them into bags, and put them into the tank himself. DenverBeerDrinker, perhaps it just seemed like an extract flavor because it's a wee bit too much vanilla for your particular palate. It's always difficult to judge spiced/infused beers while making them, so we tend to aim for a balance. Which means that you'll always have the outliers... people who taste too much vanilla and people who don't taste enough vanilla. If we can get both of those responses from a spiced beer, then chances are that we didn't actually spice it too much or too little for the vast majority of people. For me, this one is just right... I still get the coconut and charred oak from the barrels, I still get the beer, and then a slight lingering vanilla afterwards.

We have over ten kegs of Khodynka, so it'll go on tap here in the TR one of these weeks. Which is good, because I want to drink it.

And last year's summer Uncle Jacob's release was an anomaly... we just couldn't clear a tank long enough for the fermentation stage because we were ramping up production on so many other things. Once that was delayed a few months, everything was delayed. The goal is to put it out every year in January, so we almost made it this time. With any luck I'll get my homework done on time next year...

I expect Avery to use great ingredients. I wasn't implying that it was extract although that's easy to see how that was interpreted from my comment. I should have been more clear in my comment.

No offense taken whatsoever... I also think that quality extracts can be used well in brewing, as there are some great companies that make great products. In this case good ol' vanilla beans made the most sense.

I just always like to make sure that the facts are out there, as sometimes typos can happen on menus or maybe I didn't describe a certain beer well enough to our tap room staff

I'm also constantly intrigued by individual palates, how we perceive things, and how expectations shape what we taste... for example, whenever I drink Eremita VI (barrel aged sour with key lime concentrate), I would swear that I taste graham cracker. I know there's no graham cracker in there... I made that beer. But my mind instantly associates key lime flavor with the graham cracker crust from a key lime pie. Fascinates me every time. But I'm a simple man.

Last time I was out there, I enjoyed a Eremita VI. It's funny you mention that, because I tasted the exact same thing. Great beer though, that's for sure!

Anyone have an idea as to what Denver-area stores will be getting bottles of this? Wasn't able to make it up to the release.

Where are you? Littles Wine/Spirits will most likely have it. Mondo Vino may also.

I'm going to try to get it, but....well...I'm too "principled" to jump through hoops
