Nothing drums up the hate like a beer release.

You are probably correct. Wonder if Eventbrite posted details a little early.

No, they send KBS into distribution for consumers hundreds of miles away. By reducing the allocation to a couple four-packs, they expect you won't be willing to make the trip, and that'll free up beer for the local crowd.

See above. More FIBs, hoarders, etc, will decide the trip isn't worth it and that'll free up bottles for locals.

Oh, who am I kidding. There is nothing new under the sun. All is butthurt and vexation of spirit.

We all know that there is going to be more than enough whining, crying and Founders bashings with this release, why add to it by questioning them about this? Founders said there would be something special, haven't they earned the benefit of the doubt that they will deliver on this? Give it time, man.

Rabble rabble rabble..... 8 bottles for a three hour trip that has Grand Rapids, KBS possibly on tap, some tasty French bread pizza at founders, a visit to vibrant or hopcat, a stop at scilianos, followed by a return 3 hours with stop offs at greenbush or the livery....Yup, that's worth it. If you drink more then barrel aged stouts this whole craft beer thing is a lot less stressful & painful, and downright fun.

Sbxx no one cares about your KBS. The beer is good fresh but not great. I bet 3 years from now it won't even be in the top 10.

I doubt they expect people to do that. I don't think they would expect people to do that for a case. They are trying to get KBS to as many people as possible. Those assholes. Where do they get off. Do you know what is easier for Founders? Selling larger quantities at a time and getting rid of it faster. They are making it harder on themselves. Those assholes.

    Wow, this thread is crazy.

Personally, I'm excited. I was actually pretty surprised reading the deets about last year's release. 12 bottles? Seemed high, considering how much of a pain it was to buy it at bottle shops. If fewer bottles at the release party means more distro, I'm totally fine with that.

How dare you take a logical and even-keeled approach a topic related to Founders! Don't you know you're supposed to be up in arms one way or the other? Jesus!

Who's going to try to go early in the week? I may skip the tap and just head over on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Well, Founders has done a great job of unintentionally taking the heat off of FFF for the time being (until DLD detail are announced of course).

As an FIB whose momma just moved to Grand Rapids, I will definitely be trying to get a weekday ticket so my GR insider (aka mom, aka mule) cangopickupformebro.

Also, for those wondering, the OP's info came from the Eventbrite website. Tix are $5.

Your posts comes off as condescending that founders should tailor their releases for people that live multiple states away instead of trying to have a release that spreads the wealth as much as possible.

From a case several years ago, to being #602 in line two years ago, to a very smooth release last year, to 8 bottles and non-transferrable tickets...

I like KBS Day more for the drinking on site than for the bottles. I might pass this year. I'm making the trip to Founders for the Firkin event tomorrow and I might decide to attend the Black Party in April instead of KBS.

Also, isn't this the year that Founder's is finally supposed to have 'more' KBS due to the production increases several years ago? I say this with part sarcasm.

This has become a trip I look forward to every year. Go with a couple of friends, get a hotel in GR, hit up Vivant, Hopcat, Bell's, Greenbush, and/or Barehands along the way. Bringing home KBS is just kind of a bonus.
