Does anyone have any St. Patty's day (or week, month, haha) rituals?

I drink mainly craft beer (about 95% of the time) but MUST get the following during the month of March, preferrably the days leading up to St. Patrick's Day.

    12 pack of Smithwicks
    6 pack of Guinness
    6 pack of Wachusett's Quinn's

It's a ritual I've done for many years. It's probably similar among you all, but curious if you have any other rituals?

I've traditionally gone with Guinness and Jameson (or Bushmill's), and corned beef. This year I'm thinking of choosing a different beer, although I'm not sure yet.

Substituted Poteen (Irish moonshine) for whiskey last year...that was interesting.

I've done the O'Hara's Irish Stout one year. Pretty good, but very dry.

Don't really have a particular ritual. I went to Dublin in 2008, and will always have fond memories of their Guinness (really good there). I'm a big fan of Murphy's, too.

I know, if anyone read the link in the last post, this might seem insensitive but CARBOMBS!! (I've never heard a different name for them)
I hate Jameson and I'm not a fan of chugging beer but I have a weakness for Irish Carbombs. I only ever use Guinness from a widget can or on nitro-pour. I tried them with LH Milk Stout Nitro last year and it just wasn't smooth enough. Guinness has that low ABV and a weaker flavor so it goes down so easy. That and my girlfriend likes to watch Boondock Saints every St. Paddy's Day.

I only recently heard of an 'Irish Carbomb', it sounds completely moronic and yes, extremely insensitive.

I must say I rather enjoy smithwicks. Before most places started offering good crafts on tap, this was my go to. I also liked seeing if the server knew how to pronounce it properly. Smit-icks rather than popular jersey pronunciation of smith-wicks

No ritual, but I'm doing a green-waxed Eclipse this year that was a birthday present. Corned beef and the wife's Shepherd's Pie, for sure, and I'm sure some kind of stout. Preferrably a strong one. Try to keep it low key, and leave the shaningans to the young 'uns and the amateurs.

Haha, I wouldn't worry about offending anyone. It's not your fault it has an idiotic name.

But yeah, I have never heard of them before in my life until about a week ago. I dont know anyone that does this, and I've never heard anyone ask for it in a bar. I mean, I doubt it would have the same stupid name but I still dont think I've seen anyone have it before.

Hey, I hardly ever drink liquor. As a matter of fact, I have a rule that I can only drink the particular cocktail we're talking about once a year on St. Paddy's. That and the margarita or shot of tequila that I have once in a blue moon are the only instances that I ever ingest liquor because, yes, I know that overdoing it with the hard stuff can lead to trouble. But, in the past 5 years or so that I've had the tradition of drinking 1/4 shot Jameson on top of 3/4 shot Irish cream dropped into a half pint of Guinness, I've never had a bad night where things got out of control so let's not just abolish the drink for the sake of those who can't handle their shit.

I went to ireland too for st patricks day back in the late 80's when I was in college at at an all girls catholic school . I went with a bunch of girls and bunch of nuns from the college of new rochelle. I have never seen so much drinking and general festivities. As an Italian St. Patty's day was practically unknown to me until then.
