Im sitting here sipping on this beer with my brother, and was wondering how it compared to the other top BA beers. I have yet to be able to try BCBS or Parabola, is it in the same ballpark?

IMHO, one of the best. Right alongside KBS and BCBS (I haven't had Parabola). Cheaper too!

Not even top 10 for me.

It's a good coffee stout, but a miserable BA stout IMO. I barely got anything in terms of whisky notes. So disappointed.

I think it's very good and a bit over looked. That said I do not think its in the Parabola, BCBS or KBS World. The BA portion of the beer is much more subtle.

I will say, I didn't get much of the barrel age qualities out of it either. Great coffee stout though!

Absolutely. I probably had the wrong mindset going in, I bought 2 bottles and have the other one sitting in the cellar for now. I'll have to revisit it thinking more FBS than KBS.

It depends on the batch you get in my opinion. For instance, I thought batch #1 and #10 were awesome in terms of barrel and coffee/chocolate character, but just recently had batch #26 and it tasted like iced coffee pretty much. It's a good beer though and one I really enjoy.

I haven't had this in about a year and a half and I have to say, I didn't even know it was a BA beer. So, one, I'm dumb and two, apparently it doesn't compare to the other BA stuff at all. It's a great stout period but, yeah. Man, I still have a bottle sitting around that must be two years old now too. That's going to be interesting.

This all the way. Great coffee flavor. Barrel? Not so much.

I have a few bottles of batch #13. It's the only one I have got to try. I really enjoyed it.

It was decent at best - too much powdered cocoa/stale coffee taste for me. Not even in the same league as BCBS/BCBCS, Parabola, etc.

I am the brother of mattew1788, and we just opened espresso oak aged yeti and i have to say, doesn't compare to big bad baptist.

Better than BCBCS. Not as good as BCBS or KBS.

I got absolutely no whiskey barrel out of it whatsoever.

One thing I find interesting is that they have notes on every batch on their website that list the barrels, grains & hops used, but they haven't noted any barrels since batch#10. Is it not whiskey barrel aged anymore, but still labeled as such? That would be pretty misleading.
