If you have any pumpkins (I know, out of season) I'd mix the Brulee with that. I mixed one with a Pumpking back in October, it was delicious. Maybe a Sammy cherry could work? Any kind of cherry that's relatively not too tart could probably work.

Make a braise for some slow cooked pork shoulder. Throw on the grill after it's cooked with a light amount of BBq sauce.

Beer + cider + blackcurrant cordial = snakebite and black. That's all you need to know!

Ever mix beers? Call me crazy but last night I mixed a founder's imperial stout with a sweet baby jesus. Tasty. I also mixed a double dog with a sam adams white lantern to tame that abv. Anyone else ever do anything like this?

Got an idea from doing such a thing. Man I can't remember which stout it was but it was Harvey's Imperial Extra double Stout (actually quite tasty cellared) and I had a three pepper beer (spiiiiiiiiiiiiiicy as all getup). Towards the end of the night I thought about a beer that might be good, a peppered chocolate stout, so I mixed the 2 and BAM amazing. So my arguably best homebrew was born, Habanero Chocolate Stout and it's gotten quite a damn following 2 friends now have commissioned batches, I had people seeking me at bottle shares once word got around and I hope to get this recipe in regular rotation to share but man it's a picky one to brew, easy to eff up and a hair pricey.

Also mixed Surly 5 and Darkness uh 2011 Darkness...? I think. I was horrified by how pleasant it actually was, that shouldn't have worked at all (folks all decided to bring a bunch of 5 and Darkness to my birthday so we decided at one p oint to mix em :stuck_out_tongue: )

Alpine does blends in their pubs. A couple I can remember off the top of my head:

DuHop - Duet and Pure Hoppiness (So delicious. I'd venture to say its one of the better things they do.)
Willy Nelson - Nelson and Willy, their wheat (Anything involving Nelson is win. Pretty good.)

They do growlers of DuHop and I've always wanted to get one, just never got around to it.

I'm generally too scurred to blend beers; I like them enough the way they are. However, I took some inspiration from a @Sixpoint thread, and blended a Hi-Res and a Resin that was past its prime. It was excellent: it gave some much-needed bite to Hi-Res' otherwise ultra-sweet hop juice, while providing a ton of flavor. It would probably have been even better with fresh Resin (which I'll probably try again in the near future).

I was blown away by that vid of the dudes mixing PtY and Westy XII.

I like to mix a fresh hoppy IPA, say a union jack with a bourbon barreled stout. 2/3 IPA and 1/3 stout to make my own black IPA.

DuHop is the way to go. Every time I get bottles of both, thats the way I drink it. Dare I say the mix is better than each on their own.

Not sure what the cultural opinion is on this one in the beer community. I hear all time about mixing different beers in various stages of the brewing process to create new flavors an types. Is this generally looked down upon?

Anyways, to shake things up a bit and experiment, I've started mildly mixing some of my beers in the glass. I noticed slight flavor differences from the trace amount of leftover beer on the side of the lass when I was too lazy to rinse. Since then, I've been experimenting by leaving a good half inch of the previous beer left in the bottom of the glass. I'm no alchemy expert, but I've found some interesting things... especially when money is low and all I can afford is the same variety pack at my local grocery store.

Any beer mixing stories anyone wants to share?

Why not experiment when you are in the mood right! I like to do my own Black and Tan type combinations from time to time and have come up with some tasty blends. I also almost never drain pour a beer and if I have another beer I can mix in to a beer I do not like it can often come with good results. Last example of this I can remember was when I started into a Harpoon Chocolate Stout I found the chocolate too harsh and extract-like so I opened a Czernobog(Harpoon's Imperial Stout) I had in my cellar and mixed them both in two glasses and had a great blended Stout experience with notes of chocolate that were pleasing.
