I'm having a Founders Breakfast Stout. While it's in season it's my favorite way to start a Sunday. (and watch a good movie)

A 2012 Stone IMP Stout. Jesus this stuff ages well. Just an unbelievable liquid. I can't stop sipping it and then staring at the glass. My wife is making fun of me as she drinks her coffee and I could give a shit. I know what I am drinking is better than what she is having...ALOT better.

    Cheers!

Not sure how much this is normally. I got it on a vacation, but $5.75 is not bad for this beer.

Ok you guys! Morning! I said I was gonna do beer and breakfast int his here thread ont he weekends and today I have started to try Ithaca Beer's Obscurite. This is a stout that's gentle in the mouthfeel. Expansive malt brings bold and roast flavors to a softer more delicate palate. It is not unctuous or too complex. Simple straightforward and belgian in it's bearing. Drinks very well and well done! I am going to put this with oatmeal with fruit and nuts. Be right back.

    :grinning:

OK! That did not take long to cook at all. =)

Because of the bitter roast and weak coffee I decided to pair this beer with smooth creamy oatmeal. I could have played to the touch of smoke and made something with bacon but I decided it wasn't that kind of day. This oatmeal is made with milk and brown sugar so it is lightly sweet like caramel and yet it is hearty and substantial and will stick to your ribs. Those are dried cherries and almonds but raisins would have been fine. The touch of smoke was extremely pleasant alongside the creamy oatmeal.

    "Ya gotta have a breakfast."

Hate to admit it - Magic Hat Ticket to Rye. I'm a sucker for a rye beer and this one is half good.
