I sent a box out early last week, 2/24, and messaged the trader with the tracking #. Took 2 days before said trader responded that work was consuming his life this week and that he wouldn't be able to send out until Saturday at the latest. He took delivery of the box on Friday, 3/1. I have since sent out 2 inquiries regarding the box and have not heard anything. He has yet to accept the trade request as well. Am I being too impatient and expecting too much?

I think it's a little early. Doesn't sound like he has great communication but a couple days isn't a big deal. As far as the trade request I forget about those all the time. Usually don't think about them until the trade is complete.

Nothing in the new Trading section but quite a few posted on his profile page(both Ip and shipped).

Shoot him a message and ask what's up. See if he responds or if he doesn't. See if he reads it or he doesn't.

Maybe it is too early some people have a more laid back "it will get done,it's just beer" attitude about trading, drives me nuts but not much you can do about it.

Unless there are good feedbacks in the new trading system, a repeat trade partner, or that I've seen good words from other people from the forum, I will not ship my box unless the trade request is accepted.

I'd give him more time to ship before calling him out, but he needs to be communicative about delays given that he said "Saturday at the latest". You are not impatient or expecting too much, at least with communication.

Good luck and hope he comes through for you, but please keep us posted.

sorry, too many new traders that just don't "get it" IMO. on the plus side, every single time I've politely asked someone to ship first, they've said they expected to, and did. 100% success rate

Way too soon to be worrying or calling someone out.

I know there are varying opinions, but I'd disagree. Strenuously.

It takes thirty seconds to send an update. Is that really too much to ask? If someone doesn't have thirty seconds, where are they going to find the time it takes to buy beer & pack a box?

So, what's your time frame if you've sent out when agreed upon and your box has been received and there's been no response for 6 days as to the status of the incoming box???

The BA that has received his box has yet to open the last two messages sent. He was on last night but did not open his mail. It seems to me that he doesn't want to open the mail and is avoiding having to deal with this. Maybe I'm wrong but isn't courtesy to at least communicate with the other trader about the box you're obligated to send out, especially since you've gotten the beer that you were searching for?

At the very least I would expect a reply on the day the trader received the box you sent. You cannot ask for a better reminder to contact your trade partner than getting a box of beer dropped off at the door. Being online on BA and not opening email does look like he's trying to avoid you to me. People often forget that you can look at a persons profile and see when they were last "seen". The downside to sending a box before accepting the trade on BA is you then cannot leave a negative score or negative feedback for them and they can then screw someone else. Good luck man, keep us posted.

SO, I've sent out 2 messages to him and he has yet to read them. He was on BA last night, so it seems he's avoiding the issue.

I'd politely ask him in this thread if he has received the beers you sent and if he has been able to send out your package as he indicated.

@rainerschuhsler, was wondering if you've received the beer that was delivered on 3/1 and if you've sent out the box as you said on 3/2.

FYI....Anyone can read their messages without actually "opening" them. You can have all messages sent to your email account and open them from there without showing that you've read them on BA. So don't assume that he hasn't read the message. I would just out him now, as he's obviously avoiding contact with you.

Edit: I didn't notice the last post by OP.
If he doesn't reply to that, I would out him in the public forum to make sure all traders are aware of the risk.

I hope you get your beer OP

The guy told you he was busy at work. It has only been what, 3 days since he got your box. Relax. You are going to feel very silly when your box shows up on your doorstep soon. It took a week for your box to reach the destination, if he sent out on Saturday, box won't show up till end of this week.

Lets call off the lynch mob. I am all for outing bad traders, but this is very premature.

I don't know, bro. If I'm going to trade with you one day, I hope you won't tell me that you will ship by x date at the latest because you're busy with life, logged onto BA AFTER you got my box, no "hey, your box is here and everything is safe and sound', still made no confirmation of shipment by the promised date, but wouldn't accept trade request or respond to my messages.

Neither the OP nor anyone here is lynching the other trader for the box, all we wanted to see is some communications of what's going on or calling him a bad trader. It's not just 1 things, it's multiple expectations that aren't met that could easily be put at ease by a 30-second message.

Pretty sure this has already been said, but it bears repeating, evidently.
