    Hi all you sexy BA's! I've just got a couple of beers in the post woot woot & I'm enjoying a quick Undercurrent Oatmeal Pale Ale. I love the artwork on this bottle so I got a good snap of it!

    I contemplated posting this one because it was such a big disappointment and I had it several days ago. I'm a big fan of FFF D/I/PA and was really looking forward to their much talked about Dark Lord. As someone said, it's a diabetes bomb, but there's something else to it that undoubtedly was influenced by my ethnic background...to me, it tasted almost like watered down soy sauce with a lot of sugar in it. The only saving grace was how well the 15% alcohol was masked. Sorry folks, the feather ruffling was not on purpose. It's a 2012 DL, by the way.

    FWIW, the friend I shared this with gave it 4.5 out of 5 and he really liked it. We are no longer friends. :grinning:

    Thanks! It's the glass that Goose served the Rare in for the Black Friday release. I wish I could have procured more, but they sold out quickly.

    Agreed! I was going to add that to the original post after checking out the reviews. Very few beers are like that.

    Some years are better than others, but in general it's a beer I can't touch with less than three years on it. After that, the over the top sugar mellows, and it becomes more balanced. Personally I wish it all went into barrels. Those are much more drinkable fresh and taste a lot less sweet.

    Ithaca Beer has made a textbook Belgian Tripel and so far they are 3 for 3 from the Box of Belgians. Cheers everyone =)

    North Country Firehouse Red - best two things about this beer: 1. portion of proceeds go to local fire company, 2. nearly all gone.
