Alpine brewing at Green Flash?

How big are the Alpine batches of Nelson for comparison?

 

After running out Sunday was informed they may be out for over 2 weeks

Guessing Keene and tomorrow's EH=PH2 hurt Nelson capacity.

 

Opened another bottle of Duet tonight, here is some of the hop gunk, and the piece on the left is a stem

 

Wow. That's ridiculous. Anyone send a note (or several) over to Alpine yet?

 

I'm not sure Alpine gets postal service yet...

 

They'll just tell you that you stored the bottle incorrectly.

 

i have respect for Craftsman but have yet to be psyched about any of their beers

 

I do really enjoy 1903 and Poppyfields. Though admittedly, never get as excited about theirs as Alpine's selections.

 

I can tell by that picture that you definately poured the beer into the glass wrong. That's the only way To explain it. In all seriousness just out of curiosity how was the taste of the beer?

 

hard to say, but this article (http://allaboutbeer.com/news/green-flash-to-brew-kegged-beer-for-alpine-brewing/) says the production of Alpine at Green Flash increases their annual barrel output to 5000 barrels, an increase of 200%)

also, this article (http://www.westcoastersd.com/tag/alpine-beer-company/) says the batch sizes will be 250 barrels

 

I'm guessing they're doing smaller batches until they have it nailed down.

 

They need to get the amount of hop debris in the beer *just* right.

Both of those articles are from last July . . . I think OP is looking for the current status.

As for The West Coaster tweet, I'd appreciate a slightly more reliable source than "a little birdie."

As thatinvisibo said, the West Coast is about as reliable a source as you can get - they wouldn't be tweeting something unless it came from the horse's mouth. The "little birdie" is either somebody with Alpine (Pat or Shawn), or somebody at Green Flash.
