That was a disaster, the lines to pick up bottles didnt move between 2-4pm and they sold cases to the folks camping in front, a bunch of ticket holders didnt get their 3 bottle allotment. Way more than 3500 people there. CCB told people not to come early and they didnt have enough people at the gate creating an enormous line at 11am.

    A complete and epic mess.

Wasn't worth $50 to try 6 beers and purchase 3 bottles of Huna.

    No beer is that good.

Can't wait to get reimbursed for this.

Come to Floyds where it is at least $35 for no beer and long lines.

As an El Catador member I'm pretty pissed they sold cases of DB Hunahpu to people who showed up early. Especially because they asked people not to show up early. In a way it makes being in a bottle club somewhat pointless if all the special beers are suddenly available with a case limit. I saw people going to their cars with cases of DB Hunahpu before I even stood in the hour and 45 minute long line to get in.:confused:

I really thought people were about to riot. I grabbed the dudes nearest me and jumped out of line once they shut the bay doors on us.

What do they expect to do for the thousands of people that didn't keep their wristband?

In comparison this may have been one of the more successful dark lord days in recent memory.

So, the people that sent at email at 8:00:01pm are mad at the people who got shut out of el catador by sending an email at 8:00:02 but still got some "super rare" DB Huna?

    Sorry bros.

ISO: DB Huna / FT: PA locals $4$

I'm not mad at anybody, but as an El Catador member I'm a little bummed they didn't give any of us a heads up. We were allotted two bottles of these supposedly "special" beers with the guarantee of being told when they'll be made available to the public. Instead, they were selling them by the case to whoever showed up early.

I never understood this argument. It's not like El Catador members gave CCB one of their kidneys, and so deserve a lot of consideration. You lucked out, payed a few hundred dollars, and got some beer that most other people couldn't get. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

Say what you want, but there isn't a member of a brew club in the country that wouldn't be mad if this happened to them. Bruery Hoarders would shit a brick if one day, it came out, that there were cases of Wineification being sold to any Tom, Dick, and Harry who walked in one day early.

Their Facebook page is flooded with nasty posts. Personally I'm ticked off and am not sure I'll even be going next year. I'm sure I'm not alone on this one.

I tend to agree. But at least with Hoarders, there's a pretty big buy in ($700, vs. $120 for Catador), and I'd bet a pretty large expenditure over the course of a year. C'mon, $120 is *nothing* to spend on a brewery over the course of a year.

I'm not going anymore. I'm pretty sure you're in the group I'm in for trading, and I mentioned it in there, but these gigantic releases are just not worth it anymore. Huna isn't even all that amazing and you can get world class beers on shelves in good liquor stores. Even with the great shares and cool side events, it's just not worth it. Seeing those packed rooms where people can't even breathe just makes my skin crawl now. I don't know how I ever did it in the first place.
