Wheat and Orange Juice

This. Maybe limit yourself to an orange slice though. Also Hoegaarden is pretty delicious with an orange slice.

 

A proper beermosa needs a good saison (Tank 7, Dupont, etc.) I don't have them often but they are real nice with brunch after a long night.

 

Ipa needs fresh grapefruit juice to compliment it, not orange juice to mask it. Ipa/grapefruit makes the traditional mimosa seem like a joke IMO!

 

IPAs do not need GRAPEFRUIT juice to compliment them? They are fine on there own and to make a beermossa Orange juice is needed. Sure you could add a little grapefruit to add more flavor.

 

I have Drie Fonteinen Oude Geuze Golden Blend with fresh squeezed OJ every day for brunch.

Mickeys 32s and OJ was a huge part of my collegiate experience. It's actually pretty good.

If you want a very good take on what I think you're looking for here, check out Short's Anniversary Ale (wheat wine brewed w/ blood oranges) or Cigar City's 5 Beers for 5 Years (coincidentally, also an anniversary beer) Tangerine Weisse. Both were great.

This was a thread about morning mixed drinks was it not( i don't remember saying that IPA was only good when mixed with grapefruit juice). I'm going to guess you have not tried this concoction, and say that if you have an ipa past its prime it will brighten it up and bring it back to life ( Like id use pliny or abrasive?? HAH!).
Also Mimosa's by definition are citrus juice with champagne, not necessarily orange juice. A beer mosa is just a mimosa using beer instead of champagne. I personally don't like orange juice in either cocktails or with beer as it masks or ruins the finer flavors ( even when fresh...don't get me started on bottled and canned oj).

You are missing a key ingredient in this tasty beverage, vodka! You can also sub out the OJ and use Lemonade but I actually prefer the OJ version before noon and the lemonade version after.

I have heard it called many things, around here we call this a "Strip and Go Naked".

 

Place in chicago calls this the Hoemosa and yes, very good

 

Sam Adams Porch Rocker is probably my favorite summertime beer. It's lemon not OJ, but so damn refreshing with a nice sweetness. You could always make a Brass Monkey?
