Beer Release (Short's Brew): Superfluid

Here we go...

Originally intended to just be a new "killer" Double IPA for our portfolio of epic beers, it was decided that Superfluid could serve as a symbol for a much greater Short's purpose. In October of 2012, Joe traveled to Chicago to attend the Great Lakes Water Conservation Conference, hosted by the National Resource Defense Council (NRDC), to learn more about a wide array of topics ranging from responsible waste water management to the detrimental effects fracking can have on regional water tables. This conference had a profound impact on Joe, that ultimately ingrained a sense of obligation to ensure that Short's would be a leader in protecting our most valuable natural resource, fresh water. With plans to continually promote fresh water protection campaigns and groups like the NRDC, Short's hopes to use the public podium that we have built over the last 10 years to become the ultimate steward in this noble and necessary cause.

In May, we will be installing our own on-site waste water treatment facility in Elk Rapids that will pre-treat all of the waste water we generate at our production facility, essentially discharging clean water back into the municipal treatment facility in Elk Rapids

Timed perfectly with the 40th Anniversary of the Clean Water Act, Superfluid's inaugural release made it the perfect representation of our devotion and love for Michigan's most abundant natural resource. Through it's beautiful label art and clever bi-line of "Clean Water Makes Better Beer", the first specialty bottle release ever of Superfluid throughout Michigan will be our first public display of the beer that we hope will serve as our banner of dedication to this cause.

Superfluid ~ An American Double IPA with a large, but basic malt bill, that explodes with a perfume of resiny hop aromas! The lack of sweet specialty grains allows the hops to seize the flavor focus contributing bright tasty qualities of citrus fruit and berries. The perfect piney bitterness resonates across the palate complimenting the awesome hop intensity within.
