anyone know how far out the date is? i have an Apex best by 5/9/14 thanks in advance i hate when breweries do this
Bottling date is also on the bottle. Yellow ink near the bottom of the bottle on the glass. That's at least the case for their beers that come in six packs, not sure if it's the same on their bombers.
Apex was delicious a few weeks back. Like Cafe Racer 15 and Racer X, it's got a good 45 days of hop harmony and juciness. It's still great, but it's noticeably changing already.
Our seasonal IPA's (Apex, Cafe Racer 15, Racer X) are dated "best by" 4 months from the bottled on date. Our year-round offerings (Racer 5, Red Rocket, Hop Rod Rye, Peter Brown and Big Bear) are all dated 6 months from the bottled on date. We recently changed this because we wanted to ensure our customers were enjoying our beers within the proper time frame.
Just looked at my bottle of Apex, date is there, but unfortunately it is illegible. Common problem with other breweries also. In this day and age is that hard to print a date on a bottle that is readable?????
Thanks for the info - now if you could start providing Racer 5, Red Rocket, & Hop Rod Rye to WI & IL again. We have not seen product here in almost 4 months. What/Why is the situation? Thanks in advance for an update.
Unfortunately, we had to temporarily cease distribution into a handful of our smaller markets to ensure our backyard (CA) had enough beer! We are currently battling water issues (there is a serious drought in CA) as well as capacity issues (an expansion is underway, but will rely on more water being made available!). Have a bottle of Apex waiting for me for after work! My local franchise of the Craft Beer Cellar tweeted that they had it in this morning and were taking same day holds, 1 per person, so called in very quickly!
